October 14, 20118 - The program of economic citizenship will include 2,000 investors and will bring more than 1 billion euros to Montenegro in the next three years, said the President of "Arton Capital" Armand Arton in an interview for MNE Television. Arton, according to the RTCG portal, has been developing programs of economic citizenship for 15 years, and said that "Montenegro can become the Davos of the Balkans" and that "the smaller the state, the impact of the program of economic citizenship on the economy is more positive".

The program has been set up for 2,000 investors, which in the next three years will bring more than one billion euros to Montenegro. "Foreign investments will double, and in this period will amount to 20% of last year's GDP. Montenegro is a country with great potential for business," Arton said. The government, as previously announced, is preparing normative and procedural preconditions for the start of the program of economic citizenship. "Interested investors will be able to invest 250,000 euros in one of the development projects in an underdeveloped area or 450,000 in a developed region, previously approved by the Government. A fee of up to 100,000 euros will be charged upon request and directed to a special fund for underdeveloped areas," the government said earlier. Arton estimated that this would be an opportunity for the development of the north and the employment of young people in that region of our country.

"The development of a ski resort is a key project for the north. Also congress and corporate tourism. Why would companies and government institutions not hold meetings and seminars in hotels in the north, in a beautiful environment, for example in Kolasin?" said Arton.

According to him, it is necessary to improve the infrastructure in the north of our country for new investments.

"I believe that the highway will be a great base and you will have a season in the north throughout the whole year, and not just five to six months like on the coast. We know that both Montenegrins and foreigners like to go to the mountains in the winter and in the summer," Arton said, concluding that Montenegro should remain open to investors "because it is very attractive for investments.”
