The document prepared by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, adopted by the Government at its last session, also shows that the total planned investments for this year are almost 81.4 million euros. Along with the Ministry, the presented data was obtained from the Secretariat for Development Projects and the Directorate for Public affairs.
As stated in the report, most of the projects implemented in the coastal part of the country take place under the contracted dynamics. We can recall that construction work on the Cristal Riviera hotel in Petrovac continued after almost three years of delay. Activities on the construction of a hotel complex at the location of the former Blue Horizon Hotel in Tivat were also initiated after a five-star hotel building permit was issued to the investors, as well as for nine villas, landscaping, infrastructure and underground garages.
"When it comes to projects planned in the Capital budget taking place in Northern Montenegro, it is necessary to accelerate the pace of realization, regardless of the constraints caused by a slow process of contracts signing with contractors due to bad weather and completion of appeals procedures conducted by the State Commission for controlling public procurement procedures," stated one of the conclusions in the adopted information, as written by Dnevne novine.
Namely, in 2010, the expansion of the northern region's tourist offer has begun, and the most significant infrastructure projects are currently taking place in Bjelasica and Komovi, which is said to be "the bearer of the winter tourism development in Montenegro". For further development, the Government opted for three locations in Kolašin, Žarski in Mojkovac and Cmiljača in Bijelo Polje. According to the investment reports, 70 million will be invested in these three projects.13.5 million euros have already been paid, mostly for Kolašin 1600, which was 10.7 million euros.
The Capital budget plans to allocate 7,235 million, i.e. 1,9 million for Kolašin 1600, then 3,335 million for Cmiljać and 2 million for Žarski this year. However, as stated, due to weather conditions, works began only after May 1st, as all three locations are located at an altitude of more than 1,500. The Prime Minister Duško Markovic sharply criticized the delay in the work on these projects, pointing out that their realization contributes to the development of infrastructure and the launch of the economy in the north. He warned contractors and all involved in the process that "they must take additional actions to compensate for backlogs".
"I will not allow Kolašin, Mojkovac, and Cmiljača to stand still. These are great investments and important projects for the north. We have the money, you got the job and take advantage of it. Get the money, but do it!" Markovic said during a visit to the Kolašin 1600 construction site recently. For the same reason, the ski resort and accompanying facilities on Savin kuk are late, therefore not a single euro has been invested from this year's planned one million.
A positive example of investment in the most significant tourism projects is continuously given by Portonovi for the company Azmont in Kumbor. Since 2013, 313.7 million of the total planned 650 million euros have been invested for the entire resort. Specifically, this year, investments of up to EUR 44 million have been announced, but this amount has already been exceeded by the middle of the year to EUR 49.8 million. It also represents two-thirds of total realized investments in tourism projects this year.
