26 July 2018 - The Montenegrin Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulić had the opportunity to meet with the General Manager of Confindustria, Marcella Panucci, during an official visit to Italy.
Minister Sekulić highlighted that the economic growth, implemented reforms, and closeness of the two friendly countries make Montenegro a desirable partner for Italian companies. Montenegro will continue to implement activities in the field of improving private sector development, strengthening competition and improving and providing favorable conditions for investment. At the meeting, both parties reached the conclusion that Montenegro has a favorable investment environment.
The representatives of Confindustria pointed out that Italian companies are interested in the positive development of economic opportunities in Montenegro, recognizing the potential of the open and dynamic economy. Marcella Panucci announced that Confindustria will organize new business meetings by the end of this year in order to review the opportunities for realization of new projects and investments.
There are significant opportunities for additional economic cooperation and investments, as Italy is one of the largest EU foreign investors in Montenegro. Montenegro has proved to be a safe, politically stable and economically viable state with the potential to grow rapidly. Montenegrin business environment is, in fact, a small, but a dynamic market that is linked with many countries based on free trade agreements. It offers very stimulating conditions for foreign investments, low tax rates, as well as a professional workforce.
