National Parks- Sustainable Tourism Areas
"It is a great pleasure for us to recognize the National Parks of Montenegro as a special and significant tourism potential in the region, and to the great honor that we have received recognition as well. This award is a great incentive for us to preserve, develop and promote the values of parks through the design and development of tourist infrastructure on the principles of sustainable development. We also improve the level of service for all interested tourists and nature lovers, their better information on the contents and tourist offer as well as the more efficient promotion of rich natural and cultural-historical heritage. We will endeavor to contribute, in cooperation with the Government of Montenegro, to the key institutions, the tourism industry and the local population in the future, to the development of the potential of parks, and thus to a better standard of inhabitants living in the municipalities that gravitate our parks," said the director of JPNPCG Elvir Klica at the tourist awards.
"As a land of the Dinaric Mountain Chain, Montenegro is proud of its five natural parks, five protected areas whose values and beauties are recognized both on the national and international tourist map. From year to year, the JPNPCG promotes a tourism offer based on the principles of sustainable development, nature and active vacation. This year, we realized a record tourist visit and increased the number of visitors by over 30 percent. We expect the growth trend to continue in the future, which will also contribute to the promotion of Montenegrin parks at the Solin Fair, as well as participation at important international tourism fairs in the first quarter of next year," said Klica.
