Zoran Abramovic's team dominated this season, and if it wasn’t for that unexpected defeat by the current champion Partizan in Cetinje (28:20), it might have happened that for the first time, the champion was undefeated.

That defeat in the penultimate round of the 9th regular season made the Cetinje boys get serious in the remaining matches where they routinely knocked down all their rivals, and amongst others, the team from Tivat twice by eight points (28:20 and 34:26).
"We deserved to win the title, and we had a worthy opponent in Partizan. It is a demanding team who plays different handball from ours and has physically stronger players. We found the right way to overcome the defeat by Tivat, and we were our real selves when it was most needed. The biggest merits of this title belong to the players, but the season is not over yet. In the last round against Jedinstvo we will celebrate the title, and then we will have two weeks to prepare for the final tournament of the Cup. In this competition everything is possible, but we will try to bring the end to this season as it should," said Abramovic.

"I'm proud that after two years we have returned the trophy to Cetinje. It is a great satisfaction for all of us, but also the obligation to do more. We are in negotiations with the clubs from the region, and there are indications that we could make a variant of the SEHA 2 league."
Abramovic especially thanked the President Vido Djakonovic who took over the club at the most challenging moment in recent history and raised it to his feet.
"The goal of the club is to settle debts, and that is the key role of a man who has already returned a lot of money, the president Vido Djakonovic. If the debt is tied to zero, we could play League SEHA. We are one of its founders, our place is waiting for us when we are ready," concluded Abramovic.
The Captain of Lovćen, Vuk Latković, admits that even before the season started, he was convinced they would win the double crown.

"With the arrival of new management we started to strengthen our team from the last half of the season; we won the Cup, and in the summer we brought in several more players. The title was a goal and obligation, and we are happy it returned to Cetinje. We will not stop there, the double crown is our goal, and we want it to grab it on May 21st, on our most important holiday," highlighted the 29-year-old left-wing of the team.
Lovcen played the first three seasons of SEHA League - winning the sixth and ninth place. The fourth season without the Montenegrin clubs has just ended, and everyone in Cetinje is dreaming of returning to one of the most influential competitions in Europe.

"This is a matter for the Management, but I think that this title, as well as the Cup if we win it, will be the alarm for the authorities both in the capital and on the state level. Montenegro has several clubs that are real champions, and Lovćen is one of them. There is a need for very little investment in comparison to other sports to play the SEHA league and with it the quality and the ability to get back certain national team players to Cetinje. But, we as players don’t decide about this, we have done our own in the field," Latkovic made clear.
