09 December 2018 - The street food industry has always been present but has never enjoyed such publicity and glory as it does today. Every day people are increasingly looking for a quick and cheap meal which is the main offer of portable booths and other catering facilities of the kind. Street food vending offer includes a various selection of ready-to-eat meals, snacks, fruits, and drinks.
The administration of Kotor Municipality recognized the convenience of ready-to-eat food or drink sold by a hawker, or vendor, in a street or other public place to tourists. The Directorate for Development and Construction of Kotor has published a public call for lease for temporary use of portable booths for sale of cakes, pastries, “ruštule” (appetizer often served in Bay of Kotor), crepes, sausages, small fish and shellfish, French fries, boiled wine and other hot and cold drinks at the location of the city promenade. Street food is generally convenient and cheap and quite simple regarding preparation and ingredients. Still, the few bites eaten on the streets of an exciting destination is often a perfect way to sample some authentic local cuisine.
As stated in the public call, the term for issuing a portable booth is from December 14, 2018, to January 20, 2019. This means that people from Kotor, as well as tourists from the country and abroad, will be able to enjoy freshly made home specialties from Kotor and from all over Montenegro. The number of booths is limited, which means that only the very best vendors can secure a place there. It is especially worth a visit during the holiday seasons, since Kotor offers rich New Year programme (you can read about it here). Come hungry as the food stalls will offer delicious food and you’ll certainly want to pop into a nearby pub for a pint at the end!
Working hours are set in advance, from 10 am to 9 pm, except on December 30, December 31, January 1 and January 2, when the working time is extended to 1 am.

06 December 2018 - The National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro is dedicated to the promotion of Montenegro's winter tourism offer. In this respect, this year the organisation is also focused on development within the country and countries of the region, which are Montenegro’s target markets when this segment of the offer is in question. In anticipation of the winter season, NTO of Montenegro will present the offer for the New Year's holidays and the winter season in Belgrade to the most important media from the Serbian market. This presentation will be held on December 7th, and the Montenegrin representatives will organise an all-day promotional event for visitors of the shopping centre “Big Fashion Shopping Centre” on Saturday, December 8th, which will include rich entertainment program, gifts, and animation for the youngest. NTO will invite guests from Serbia to enter the New Year 2019 enjoying the events, dinners, and parties with the music of the most popular singers and groups of the region, both in town squares and hotels and discotheques on the coast and north of Montenegro.
After multiple presentations in Belgrade, similar promotional events will be organised in Albania, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. As in the previous years, the presentations will be organized in Sarajevo, Tirana, Dubrovnik, and Trebinje in cooperation with local tourism organisations and local businesspeople. Montenegrin offer will be also presented through PR activities, online promotion through the official portal, social networks, through "outdoor" campaigns - placing billboards at the most beautiful locations of major cities in the country and the region.
Representatives of NTO expect that Montenegro will, based on a program that is already prepared, justify the epithet of a destination that is most recognizable in the region after the New Year's Eve. You can read about the New Year’s Events on the Montenegrin coast here. The rich offer for the holidays is prepared for the northern cities of the country as well. NTO is expecting great interest in the offer and prices of ski centres that are increasingly visited by tourists during the winter season, as well as for the costs of New Year's arrangements in hotels on the coast. Montenegro is entering the winter season with optimistic expectations based on the readiness of mountain tourist centres, new exclusive, luxurious hotels, rich festive programs along the Montenegrin coast and already significant confirmed booking.
04 December 2018 - Montenegro can genuinely be proud of its beautiful 293 km long coast with 73 km of sand, pebble, and rocky beaches spread over 117 locations. Each summer season, beaches attract numerous tourists from all over the world to Montenegro. Having clean and beautifully arranged beaches have been recognized as a necessity by the Montenegrin Government, so The Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone of Montenegro decided to make an effort to improve beach appearance and positively affect the tourist offer of the country during the summer.
As announced from the Coastal Zone Management Company, as of next summer season, Montenegrin beaches will have a new, unique look when it comes to beach equipment that will be more appealing to tourists from the country and guests from abroad. Achieving a beautiful looking coast should contribute to an increase in satisfaction with tourists who travel to Montenegro for the summer holidays.
The Local News Station RTV Budva recently interviewed Blažo Rađenović, the director of the Limited Liability Company "Mediteran reklame" (English: "Mediterranean Advertising") on the subject, and he explained that the new decision that will soon be made and the three-year plan proposal would introduce new regulations when it comes to beach advertising. He justified the recent agenda with the unsightly multicolor picture of Montenegrin beaches, where umbrellas, sunbeds, and cabins are used for commercial purposes, and they do not reflect the beauty of the country’s coastal area.
According to Rađenović, The Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone of Montenegro will create new coastal area regulations in the following period, so that all beaches have their unique appearance that is focused on attracting tourists, and not creating commercial effects for private companies.
In the past period, before the issue of coastal zone appearance was brought to the surface by the authorities, LLC “Mediteran reklame“ was in charge for controlling the advertising aspect on the Montenegrin beaches, and have charged a fee for advertising in beach zones.
"We tried to act preventively with our taxes and limit the advertising options. In Montenegro, that was the only way to influence and change something for the better. If our company did not exist, everyone would have the right to place hundreds of ads, and that would worsen the image of the country’s coastal area, "Rađenović concluded. He is pleased that the public company has recognized the importance of this issue and that taxing will no longer be the method for creating a more beautiful image for the beaches.

03 December 2018 - In cooperation with private accommodation providers and some of the caterers in Herceg Novi, local Tourist Organisations have created “Accommodation and Meal Special Offers” for 3, 5 or 7 days, during the New Year, the Mimosa Festival and the preseason period.
So far, arrangements have been made with the accommodation providers in Topla, Igalo, Đenovići, and Baošići.
“We categorized the accommodations; formed more favourable prices for the pre-season, and now we are working on forming unique offers that we will send to the agencies. It is innovation. Restaurant owners have offered a half-board service while staying in an accommodation arrangement. Practically, a guest who comes to some of the offered apartments and rooms will have a half-board meal in one of five or ten restaurants. They will not be "tied" to only one restaurant during their stay, but they can change their meal place every day,” explains the Director of TO Herceg Novi, Pavle Obradović.
He also stresses that they created cheaper transportation arrangements to the nearest regional destinations, such as Dubrovnik, with local agencies, because they were told that they wanted to offer lower prices to both locals and guests. A consolidated offer will be sent first to agencies from cities that are “connected” to Montenegro via low-cost flights (London, Rome, etc.).
The price for “New Year's Package” of 3 overnight stays is 45 EUR per person, for five overnights the rate is 70 EUR, and seven overnights require 90 EUR per person.
These price arrangements will also apply to the Mimosa Festival.
All categories of private accommodation (rooms and apartments) can be rented out during the pre-season and post-season period, ie from 1 to 30 April, from May 1 to June 14, from June 15 to June 30, from 1 to 14 September, from September 15 to September 30, and from October 1 to November 1, 2019.
Tourist Organization Herceg Novi is inviting all private accommodation providers within the Municipality to contact them via tel. 031 350 820 and email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to offer accommodation services to tourist agencies and tour operators in the region and abroad.

There are 17 hotels in different parts of Tivat, but all of them are very close to the sea. There are small hotels with only twenty beds and large ones with about 300 beds. 02 December 2018 - For many years now, the development of winter tourism in Montenegro has been one of the country’s most important goals. The Government of Montenegro has invested about 50 million EUR in Kolašin, the city that will be the backbone of the development of winter tourism in the northern region of Montenegro.
In mid-October, representatives of Montenegrin Government have announced that the central part of the construction process at the “Kolašin 1600 Ski Resort” was completed, including almost one kilometre of roads to the ski resort.
At the end of autumn 2017, the construction of the Doppelmayr's six-seater cable car and the construction of the corresponding ski slopes, under the official name "K-8 Troglava" (named after the 2072 meters above sea level peak), has begun. Most of the works have been completed, all pillars with corrugated batteries on them, as well as the starting and exiting station of the cableway, are installed. The barges are six-seaters with six centimetres thick pillows. The cable car will have a sound system, security cameras along the route, and the Internet will be available to the skiers while driving.
The contractor for the cableway at the Kolašin 1600 site is the Austrian company – Doppelmayr, world's leading manufacturer of ropeways, cable cars, and ski lifts. With the completion of works at the 1600 location, Montenegro will get a new ski resort owned by the state. By building the access road, infrastructure and cableway, the state wants to create conditions for attracting investors who will construct more accommodation capacities and further develop the ski centre.
Prime Minister of Montenegro, Duško Marković, said during the Premiere Hour of the Assembly this week that the Kolašin 1600 ski centre is expected to be operational in the coming days.
On its Twitter account, the Government of Montenegro has released the latest snow-covered photographs of the ski resort.
