June 23, 2018 - Collection of residence tax on the territory of the Budva municipality has increased every year. By mid-June, the Touristic Board of Budva and the National Tourism Organization had an income of almost 600,000 euro on this basis.

"It is noteworthy that the increase in the collection of residence tax rose by about 70-80 thousand euro in comparison to last year," said City Secretary of Finance Petar Odžić.

For this season, the number of controllers increased, and therefore we have an increased control over the legalization of private accommodation, said Odžić.

"There are 14 teams on the ground that will monitor the whole tourist season from June 15th to the end of September. We will put the accent on illegal renters, so that, in coordination with the state tourism inspection, the grey zone is reduced to a minimum," Odžić concluded.

The collected funds from the residence tax are used for the following:
- 80% for financing activities of local tourist organizations;
- 20% for financing the program of the National Tourism Organization.

The tax is 1 euro per day
