The members of NGO 'Our Action' will move to Blidinje Nature Park in Bosnia and Herzegovina to take part in the Eco-Colony 2018. This will be the second time young people from Kotor and other parts of Montenegro, led by the president of the organization, Patricia Pobrić, will participate in the work of the international Eco Colony, bringing together artists, volunteers and young people from former Yugoslavian countries.
For the ninth year in a row, Eco-Colony is organized by the non-government organization EKO-ZH, the Association for Protecting the Natural and Cultural Heritage of Western Herzegovina. This year, for the first time as a partner organization through the RYCO (Regional Youth Cooperation Organization) project, the eco-colony project is joined by volunteers and artists from Montenegro, led by our NGO Our Nation from Kotor. The past achievements of the previous colonies were followed by the exhibition and the commemorative catalog, which witnessed the successful cooperation with the Sarajevo Academy of Fine Arts, the Banja Luka Academy of Fine Arts, the University of Dzemal Bijedić (Bosnia and Herzegovina), the Academy of Fine Arts Osijek (Croatia), the Faculty of Fine Arts Belgrade (Serbia) and the Academy of Fine Arts Široki Brijeg (Bosnia And Herzegovina).
The colony program foresees camping on Blidinje, in Risovac, from 3 to 7 October 2018. Each participant is obliged to paint 2 pictures, and the theme of this year edition is Blidinje’s landscapes. The program also includes lectures in the field of fine arts, art history, psychology, and environmental protection.
The Eco-Colony itself is of international character with the aim of promoting art, protecting the environment and heritage, as well as multi-ethnic youth cooperation. The project lasts 6 months and activities and exhibitions are also planned in Montenegro. There are currently 60 participants from all over the region.
