As announced by the Ministry of Economy, citizens will be able to get a loan in the amount of up to EUR 8,000, with a repayment period of up to six years, and within that amount, they opt for one or more energy efficiency measures available within the program.
"The citizen will return the loan principal to the bank, while the interest and fee for paying the loan to the bank will be paid by the Ministry of Economy," they explain. In order to implement the program in autumn, the Ministry announced that it will soon announce a public tender for distributors and installers of heating systems with the modern biomass and construction companies dealing with thermal insulation works on facades or the supply and installation of energy-efficient facade carpentry. In addition, it will invite all banks in Montenegro to send a letter of interest to participate in the program.
"The goal of the Energy Efficient Home program is to offer households in Montenegro, through interest-free loans, the possibility of achieving economic and energy savings using biomass heating and financing of works to improve the energetic characteristics of the facility's isolation," the Ministry emphasizes.
The "Energy Efficient Home" program is a sequence of the "Energy Wood" program, which has been implemented by the Ministry of Economy since 2013, within which about 1,010 heating systems on pellets and briquettes have been installed throughout Montenegro.
