April 21, 2108 - As the summer’s approaching, Montenegro is welcoming more and more guests from the region and world, director of the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro, NTO, Željka Radak-Kukavičić told Dnevne Novine. This is only the beginning of another record-breaking tourist season, according to her.
Ms Radak Kukavičić also underlined that last year the NTO participated in tourism events held in Novi Sad, Paris, Rimini, London and Warsaw, whereas this year they went to Utrecht, Vienna, Ljubljana, Belgrade, Mannheim, Munich, Berlin and Moscow. “We expect to receive lots of tourists from Germany, Russia, France, Poland, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, the Benelux and Scandinavia countries, as well as from countries of region (mainly Serbia). We’ve recorded the increase in the number of leisure arrivals from China as well,” said Radak-Kukavičić.
Tourists are enchanted not only by the Montenegrin coast but by the cultural and natural beauties of the north as well, stressed she.
The interest of some large tour operators (TUI, Thomas Cook, FTI, Der Touristik, Thomson, First Choic, Monarch, Cosmos, Kuoni, Biblio Globus, ITS, Mac Sun and Misir Reisen) will undoubtedly result in diverse guest structure and increase in foreign arrivals.
Ms Radak-Kukavičić added that compared to the last year, the number of individual and group arrivals from China has significantly increased. Since the beginning of 2018, 10 large groups and several small ones visited Montenegro and 10 more from five Chinese cities are to arrive in April. We may also expect 15 groups of Chinese tourists in May.
She concluded with a statement that construction works, esp. infrastructure (modernization and restoration of roadways, construction of new hotels, as well as spatial planning) are crucial for promotion of the country’s tourism offer.
