Around 16,65 thousand tourists visited Podgorica in the first two months of this year, which is 50,11 percent more than in the same period last year.
Tourist Organization (TO) Podgorica reports that there were 28,2 thousand overnights in the first two months of this year and that is 27, 5 percent more than in the same period last year.
„We’re glad to notice that the number of arrivals and overnight stays is expected to grow even more, in comparison to the last year, which set a record. We also notice that tourists stay longer in the capital“, say the representatives of the TO Podgorica.
A great number of factors influenced such an improvement. First and foremost, promotion activities in the region and important emitting markets, and then the opening of the new accommodation capacities of high quality and of a well-known brand, more interesting events of local, regional and international character, etc.
TO also points out that they are working on creating a brand new image.
„Besides great potentials for tourism development, we’re working on making Podgorica more attractive destination for tourists. Therefore, we particularly emphasize cultural heritage, further validation of natural resources, promotion of the wine tourism and some forms of active holiday“, said the representatives of the TO.
