January 13, 2018 - The core of the Mimosa Festival in Herceg Novi is the Feast of Mimosa, Fish, and Wine on the Riviera, from Kumbor to Bijela. Traditionally on the first Saturday of the Mimosa festival, this event brings together a large number of Herceg Novi citizens, as well as guests. The most visited is the Baosici Local Community, where the central Feast's event is traditionally held.
According to the president of the local community Baošići, Djuro Cvjetkovic, preparations for the Feast run with planned dynamics. With the weather, the Riviera could see over 20,000 visitors in Baošići.
This year's organization brings much news, as the goal is to fulfill the entire walkway through Baošići. Instead of 10, there will be 12 pitches where the hosts will prepare fried sardines and cuttlefish, and there are also three locations with music:
"The music program will take place in front of the House of Culture; some music will be at Fishermen's Cooperative because it is the place where this Feast began 50 years ago. The location for the third music point will be located in the second part of Baošići, towards Bijela, somewhere near Hotel Max. We have not yet determined the exact location," explains Cvjetkovic.
On the day after the Feast, the "Fragrances and Taste of February," a bazaar of healthy food, will be held in Baošići, because the wish of this local community is to continue the activities of the Mimosa Festival on the Riviera.
On the second day of the Feast, guests will also have a chance to taste fish, wine, brandy, pickles, and follow a cultural-artistic program and a competition in preparing black risotto.
"Our goal is to welcome guests who come to Baosici and along the entire Riviera and give them the reason to revisit our place," says Cvjetkovic.
He praised the cooperation with all businessmen from Baošići during the summer season, which is why he expects that during the Mimosa Festival this cooperation will be good. Among the significant accommodation providers, the Hotel Max and the Damjanović villa are open every year during the Mimosa Festival.
