Montenegrin police received a donation worth almost 344,000 euros from their colleagues from Germany. The donation consists of the most up-to-date equipment to be used by Border Police Sector Officers for border checks and surveillance of the border.
Valuable equipment, which will be used at border crossings, will enable border police officers to provide faster and more efficient checks at border crossings and in the green border area, with a view of achieving even better results in combating all forms of cross-border crime.
The equipment that was donated yesterday, the same that is being used by the police of the European Union countries, consists of 60 border stamps, 56 special loops for the detection of falsified travel documents, three long-distance camera sensors for detecting movement of persons and vehicles at a distance, 10 mobile readers of documents for checking on buses, six overhead projectors for the review and search of all hidden bunkers in vehicles and four devices for the second line of border checks.
The total value of the donated equipment is €343,800.40. The total value of equipment that Federal Police of the Federal Republic of Germany has repeatedly donated to the Border Police Department of the Montenegrin Police since the beginning of this year is 543,800.40 euros, while the value of donated equipment by colleagues from Germany, with the realization of another donation planned by the end of this year, will increase to 922.079,92 euros by the end of this year.
The protocol on the delivery of donated equipment was signed by Assistant Director of the Police Administration of the Montenegrin Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sector of Border Police Vesko Damjanovic and the liaison officer of Federal Police of Germany Oliver Has.
Assistant Director of the Police Administration Vesko Damjanović expressed gratitude to the liaison officer Oliver Hass on a valuable donation. Assistant Damjanovic said that this donation also confirms that the Montenegrin border police has excellent cooperation with the German police, not only in terms of support for the achievement of standards in technical and material equipment, but also in the area of exchanging information and training that Germany provides the Officers of the Border Police Section. He stressed that this donation would contribute significantly to faster and more effective border control, as the previous donations of Federal Police of the Federal Republic of Germany have contributed to achieving measurable results in the field of border management, which are at a high level. Equipment will be particularly important for the prevention and suppression of cross-border crime and all kinds of illegalities, said the Police Department statement.
