04 October 2018 - As part of the project for the presentation of Montenegro at the XVI Venice Biennale of Architecture, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro has prepared two workshops: "Botanical Glossary" and "Jelena is Back".
"Botanical Glossary" is a one-day international workshop organized by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism and the Department of Biology within the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Montenegro, which will take place on October 5th. This project was created with the support of the Chamber of Engineering of Montenegro as well as Consolato Onorario del Montenegro a Milan.
According to the completed agenda, the workshop "Botanical Glossary" is conceptualised as the basis for the creation of an international platform and applicable web application as the ultimate goal. The web application "Botanical Glossary" will contain a database of endemic plant species, their constitution, climate characteristics and other characteristics from the aspect of adaptability and transformability of the species. The workshop will focus on seven carefully selected plant species from the territory of Montenegro. The objective of the workshop is to open and debate issues on collaborative resilience, system approach in creating strategies in urban design, landscape urbanism, landscape architecture, and urban planning.
"Jelena is Back" is also a one-day workshop with an international character, reserved for October 6th. The workshop will take place at the Palazzo Malipiero in Venice, Italy, under the coordination of the University of Trento. According to the agenda, works that were completed earlier during the Biennale will be presented at this workshop, and at the end of the project presentation, the jury will make a decision on the awards.
