14 September 2018 - Tourist guides are the ambassadors of their state and their job is to present their country in the most beautiful way to all tourists. They are mostly the ones that contribute to tourist impressions and to the odds that the tourists visit the country again.
Tourist guide from Kotor, Montenegro, Ana Marija Brajković, pointed out that this year's tourist season has been marked by the arrival of a large number of cruisers. With a great number of tourists arriving in the country, the tourist guides had a lot of work this year. She pointed out that the tourist guides see the greatest difficulties in infrastructure problems. Because of traffic jams, she explains, the tourist groups usually arrive late to their destinations or tourists get late on their arrival.
"The nice side of our work is getting to know the culture, language, and customs of people from all over the world. The tourists I lead are usually from English and Spanish speaking areas. The guests mostly come from Mexico, Brazil, Spain, the United States and the United Kingdom, all in order to enjoy the Montenegrin attractions, which are the tours through Kotor, Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks, Budva and Northern Montenegro. On our tours, we visit the national parks, the lakes; we go to the popular rafting spot on the Tara River. Almost all the tourists that I led were impressed with our country, so many of them wanted to come back and visit what they did not manage to see and end up coming for the second or the third time, ”Brajković explained.
She added that for the tourist guides, the summer season will last until mid-November.
