September 2, 2018 - The State Secretary in the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism (MORiT), David Davidović, reckons that this year’s summer tourism season represents a turning point in terms of revenues, as the Ministry expects to collect the biggest profit from tourism, exceeding €1bn.
“The information collected by the MORiT indicates this year’s summer season has been pretty successful. When it comes to collective accommodation, tourist arrivals have increased by 13%,” Davidović said.
According to the latest official data, during the first six months of this year, Montenegro generated 10% more revenues from tourism.
“The situation in July was the same as last year. As for the tourist arrivals in August, we recorded 2-9% growth. We expect a successful postseason based on the announcements of hotel owners, stating that most of their capacities have already been booked in September and greatest part of October.”
Davidović reflected on many events held on the Montenegrin coast and north of the country this year, compared to last year.
