14 August 2018 - The Capital of Podgorica and the Children's Association decided to use the summer months to work on the renovation of the Children's Resort on Veruša, for which they provided the funds in the amount of about 30,000 EUR.
The complete renovation of bathrooms in the pavilions "Podgorica", "Tara" and "Komovi", included modernization, building new sanitary and shower cabins.
Also, due to very bad weather conditions that prevail in this climate during the winter months, it was necessary to complete the entire reconstruction of all outer stairs in the pavilions. In the famous "Limenka" building, where playgrounds and other entertainment activities are held, the plateau is restored.
Within their official reports, they reminded that in 2016, they completely renovated the kitchen according to the standards of the HACCP system, and partly renovated the Pavilion "Komovi", in which 150,000 EUR was invested. The HACCP system, known as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points is a management system in which food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of biological, chemical, and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product.
Veruša is only 50 km away from Podgorica, so it is often the first choice as an escape from the summer temperatures because, within a couple of hours, visitors can enjoy the fresh mountain air and unspoiled nature. The children's resort on Veruša is located at the foot of Mount Kom at 1200 meters above sea level. The accommodation capacity of the resort is 120 beds, and the resort also includes a restaurant, a TV room, an emergency clinic, a discotheque, sports multipurpose polygons, and there are also beautiful walking paths, hiking and recreation in the area.
