June 12, 2018 - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Montenegro, Milutin Simovic, together with the Mayor of the Old Royal Capital Cetinje, Aleksandar Kascelan, opened the newly built complex – the Ethno Village St. George in Njegusi in the past week.

This Ethno Village is located in Krstac and hires 32 employees, with the note that in the following period, up to 43 more job positions will be opened. The tourist resort has accommodation capacities within 15 bungalows and two apartments, which are modernly equipped and environmental-friendly. It also features various sorts of exclusive amenities for both rest and recreation. The cost of building this project was estimated at approximately 7.5 million EUR.

Deputy Prime Minister Milutin Simovic expressed satisfaction in his opening speech while adding that today it is possible to see numerous successful achievements of creative and sustainable entrepreneurial ideas in Montenegro.

“We are proud that Montenegro is an increasingly frequented address of entrepreneurial visions in many areas, which are implemented by both domestic and foreign entrepreneurs,” said Simovic, while adding that he is extremely happy that such an achievement is being done in Cetinje, which is a symbol of Montenegrin historical, libertarian and cultural identity.

He also emphasized that the valorization of all these advantages is possible in a favorable business environment, which the government is devoted to building and promoting in continuous, open and partnership communication with local self-government, entrepreneurs, businesses, and investment communities, both domestic and foreign.

“Successful implementation of this and many other entrepreneurial ideas and projects is the best confirmation of the justification of the overall efforts that the government invests continuously in strategic development planning, strengthening the business environment, as well as confirmation that our country is an attractive tourist and investment destination,” noted Simovic.

In his conclusion, Simovic added that he is sure that the Ethno Village St. George will contribute to further efforts and results of both the local and national economy with its successful work and that its employees will work hard and stay motivated for such work. He also concluded that mutually beneficial cooperation with domestic food producers will be established.

The Mayor of the Cetinje, Aleksandar Kascelan, also expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of the project in Njegusi and the opportunity to celebrate the business success of investors, their associates, local communities, and especially, as he said, local citizens who are solving one of the most important life issues – employment.

"We strongly support government policies aimed at developing entrepreneurship and self-employment, administrative capacity and overall infrastructure. We believe that in the synergy of local and national authorities, business associations, domestic and foreign companies and investors, we can create preconditions for accelerated growth and sustainable development," noted Kacelan.
