The win for Budućnost in the first match of the grand finale is a result of solid play during most of the game, especially in the finish of the third and last quarter. After an equal first half, Zvezda took an eight point lead in the third quarter, but the Montenegrins managed to recover and conclude the quarter with three-pointers by Popović and Ivanović for a six point lead going into the last quarter.
In the final 10minutes Budućnost pulled ahead by 10 points, but the home team had a chance to even up at 75:72 when Davidovac missed a three-pointer, while Dolman scored on the other side and practically took control of the game.
Nikola Ivanović scored 20, Nemanja Gordić 18, Justin Doleman 13 and Kyle Gibson 10 points. The home team, which missed a large number of free throws in the last quarter, Omić made 13, with 10 assists by Taylor Rochestie.
The same rivals are due to meet on Tuesday at 18:30h in Belgrade as well, and if all goes well, the title will be decided upon in Podgorica in the third match.
