Jadran Carine will play Jadran from Split at the indoor pool in Igalo tonight and are chasing two minus points from the first match (11: 9) which took place in Zadar last weekend. The derby for the two teams with the same name begins at 7 pm, and the entrance is free.
"The team from Split showed that they are a very good team in the first match but we knew that already," said the young Djuro Radovic, who at the start of the season was the most successful shooter for the Herceg Novi club.
"We started great in the first game, but there was a drop in the second and third quarters which should not happen to us."
Can Jadran get a +3 advantage in the rematch? "Minus two goals is not small, but it is not unreachable either. The most important thing is that we are complete, and I believe we can go to the Champions League," adds the left-handed bomber.
What does the Herceg Novi club have to change to win tonight?
"We need to repair the defense from the game in Zadar. We received a lot of cheap goals, and we did not have luck at times," concluded Radovic. If they advance to the Champions League tonight, it will be the second season in a row for Jadran, and the third in the last four years. Jadran chooses tonight – either the Champions League or Euro Cup.
Asić: Jadran is strong, but so are we
The former two-time champion of Europe Jadran from Split dreams of returning to the Champions League, but also knows their rival this evening.
"The guys played great in the first match and we are going optimistically into the rematch," said the coach from Split, Ivan Asic. "The opponent has shown that they are strong but so are we."
