Montenegro and Azerbaijan know each other well, our countries have established strong mutual relations in a short time, which made Montenegro the second country, after Turkey, with the biggest direct investments from Azerbaijan because investors choose friendly countries for their projects, emphasized by the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in a meeting with Montenegrin parliament’s president Ivan Brajovic, who is paying an official visit to the country.
“The exchange of visits at all levels is important so we could consider ways to additionally improve relations between the two countries, among which parliamentary collaboration has a significant part," said the president of Azerbaijan.
The president of the Montenegrin parliament emphasized the significance of friendly relationships and mutual trust for collaboration in all areas, primarily economic, where there is plenty more space for strengthening the foreign-trade exchange.
Discussing strategic projects of Azerbaijan and Montenegro, Brajovic mentioned the touristic complex 'Portonovi' and expressed the opinion that a planned appointment of a Montenegrin diplomatic representative in Baku will additionally facilitate and accelerate relations between our countries and people.
Concerning the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh, the president of the Parliament stated his expectations of finding a peaceful solution in the Minsk negotiation process soon and supported territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan following resolutions by the United Nations.
