The professor at the Faculty of Economy, former vice-president of the Government and Minister of European Integration, Gordana Djurovic has declined the offer by the prime minister Dusko Markovic to directly become the leader of European integrations for Montenegro, but expressed her readiness to assist the Government from her role as a professor and expert in European integration procedures.

“Pobjeda” unofficially found out that Djurovic, who led the process of integrations by the Montenegrin Government from 2004 to 2010, met Markovic more than a week ago.

On this occasion, professor Djurovic thanked him for the offer and expressed her readiness to assist the Government, but only as a professor and expert in European integration procedures. During the meeting, it was not defined if this will still be done in the form of the Ministry or if this will change. In any case, capable staff will be found elsewhere, said the source to “Pobjeda”.

Djurovic was the Minister for Foreign Economic Affairs and European integration from 2004 to 2006, and then in the new mandate, carried out the job of vice-president of the Government for European integrations, until 2009. She remained in this position until the end of 2010, when Igor Luksic became prime-minister who joined the European integration department to foreign affairs.

Until the new Minister is elected, the Ministry of European affairs is led by Zoran Pazin, vice-president of the Government for the political system, domestic and international politics and the actual Ministry of Justice, after the resignation of the former Minister of European affairs Aleksandar Andrija Pejovic.
