19 October 2018 - NATO membership sends a clear message to the world that a member state is safe and is heading towards progress. As the NATO’s latest member state, Montenegro proves this as it has managed to double the foreign direct investments (FDI) after joining the Alliance.
“We have got great news from Montenegro regarding the foreign direct investments. Since the moment this country joined NATO, the FDI has doubled,” a NATO official said.
Montenegro faced many challenges on the road to NATO, but most of them were external pressures of Russia, according to them.
"Skopje now has a chance to look up to Montenegro and send a similar message in terms of economic and political aspect," as concluded by the NATO representatives.
