27 September 2018 - Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković said at a meeting of the Socialist International in New York that for more than two decades, a policy based on the values of the Socialist International, namely peace, stability, coexistence, solidarity and multi-ethnic and multi-religious harmony, has won the majority support in Montenegro.
"This is a basis for our longevity and we are proud of that," the Prime Minister highlighted at the meeting that took place on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.
The Prime Minister underscored that thanks to these values, Montenegro became a NATO member last year and has been successfully negotiating on EU membership for six years.
Speaking about global issues, PM Marković noted that multilateralism is endangered nowadays, and that the principles of solidarity and communion are undermined, adding that efforts are now being made to put nation above common values.
