The Draft on Special Spatial Planning for the Coastal Zone of Montenegro is aligned with all the international conventions that our country is a signatory, said Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism Pavle Radulović as a guest of TVCG program “From the Right Corner”. He also said there are alternatives to the planned bridge at Verige, one of the projects UNESCO is mostly concerned about.
Radulovic explained that the plan would not allow construction at 100 meters from the coast, while residential facilities could be built at a distance of one kilometer from the sea.
"Instead of the former spots that have determined the construction zones, we now have a coastal belt," says Minister Radulovic.
As he pointed out, particular attention is devoted to the protection of the environment, and the draft is harmonized with fifty international conventions, including the Barcelona Convention.
Radulovic said he was not clear why there is so much fear that Kotor will be removed from the UNESCO list, and that the Heritage Impact Assessment (HIA) Recommendation is to find an alternative to the planned bridge at Verige. "We gave it - Luštica-Zelenika, with a way below Luštica ... So an alternative was made."
