May 9, 2018 - The case of journalist Olivera Lakić who was shot and injured on Tuesday night by an unknown attacker raised a storm protest in front of the Government on Wednesday. This was just another attack on journalists in the string of similar cases. Several hundreds of citizens, media representatives, opposition parties and NGOs are holding the protest.
Olivera feels good now. She’s a brave woman and she’s aware of what happened, said the CEO of “Vijesti”, Željko Ivanović.
“She even said that she’s not surprised at all, considering everything that has happened since 2011 up until nowadays”, said Ivanović.
Ivanović is concerned about the environment we live in.
“I’m wondering if this society is able to go through five more years of Milo Đukanović’s rule. Is this society able to function in the environment where everybody’s enemy, a traitor, and where nobody can speak freely”, said Ivanović.
Representatives of the Association of Professional Journalists of Montenegro expressed their concern regarding the fact that this time the attacker used firearm.
“We demand that the Prosecutor’s Office and the police put efforts and find the attackers”, said the representatives of the Association of Professional Journalists of Montenegro.
