It is not easy to translate “mandrac” in English, but let’s say it is a dry stone jetty, constructed along whole Adriatic coast. Most of these valuable cultural heritage constructions in Boka Bay are demolished, or damaged with inadequate interpolations, such as concrete covers. Mandrać, as a dry stone construction, allows seawater to circulate among stone blocks, so this kind of construction does not present any natural threat, nor does it disrupt sea currents or marine organisms inhabiting the sea bottom.
