The fast mountain river Morača, which flows from the North of the country down to the Skadar Lake, is one of the symbols of Montenegro. Its shallow but dangerous flow can reach 100 km/h at the time of floods and its 1000 m deep canyon located between Podgorica and Kolasin is worth a visit. This is the view from the monastery built on one of the river banks in the 13th century. The monastery belongs to the Serbian Orthodox church and is one of the most significant medieval monuments in the area, making it very popular among pilgrims and tourists.
