Several programs were held at various locations in Durmitor on Tuesday, August 20, as part of the Wild Beauty Art Festival.

From 11 am in Stećci, for mountaineers, tourists and some locals at the most interesting site of medieval tombstones in Montenegro, under the protection of UNESCO, the group “Mockingbirds” performed with different interpretations of classical and pop music works.

The same band presented itself with a similar program from 3 pm at one of the most famous mountaineering locations in Montenegro - Sedlo, which was attended by interested mountaineers and nature lovers.

In the evening, on Black Lake, with the great enthusiasm of the audience, performed the renowned New Quartet of Balázs Bágyi, one of the leading ensembles on the Hungarian jazz scene. This concert is part of the program "Hungarian Culture Week in Montenegro" sponsored by the Hungarian Embassy and the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Ambassador of Hungary to Montenegro, his Excellency Jozef Nedeshi, addressed the audience on our language, pointing out that this concert by the top Hungarian artists is evidence of strong ties in the field of culture nurtured by the two nations. Thanks to the organizers at the high production level, the ambassador wished good luck to the first edition of the Wild Beauty Art Festival.

In September, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, in cooperation with the Public Company for the Management of the Marine Property of Montenegro and the Municipality of Budva, will announce an international competition for the preliminary architectural design of the promenade Budva-Becici.

This is the largest infrastructure project that will completely change Budva's layout and the five-kilometer promenade from Old Town to Rafailovici. The present appearance of these promenades is by no means representative, and due to the numerous temporary locations, Budva has become synonymous of a tacky fair for years.

"The theme of the competition will be the conceptual design of the promenade along Slovenska Beach in Budva and the beach in Becici, as well as their connection through Zavala Peninsula with the intersections of the promenade with access roads to the coast and the sea. In addition to pedestrian and recreational paths, the promenade should also have the road for delivery vehicles and emergency vehicles. For the complete design of the promenade, the conceptual design of the lighting, urban furnishing, especially the waste collection device/equipment, should be done. The length of the walking path at the promenade is about five kilometers, "the PR Service of the Public Company "Morsko dobro" told "Vijesti".

The Public Company points out that in the last 30 years, marked by the general social crisis in the former Yugoslavia and the boom in construction and real estate turnover, more buildings have been built along Budva Riviera than in the past.

"The growth of settlements with extremely dynamic construction was more closely followed by a concern for profit than a sense of urban order and the need to preserve the ambient values and the landscaping of public spaces. Coast – Slovenska and Becice beaches and the promenade adjacent to it, are a public space that is a recipient for tourist activities and city functions. It is this zone that is recognized as the busiest part of the municipality in the evenings, and a significant part of the offer spread over this area for years is often evaluated as the segment that devalues the level of quality of the tourist product," said the Public Company.

With the project solution of the infrastructure segment, which is required by the competition, as explained in "Morsko dobro", the state aims to "create an appropriate environment for the interdependent growth of the image of the destination and the potential for its further promotion, but also an attractive space for new entrepreneurial activities".

Prize money €60,000

The international jury of seven members will deal with the evaluation of the competition works, as they point out in "Morsko dobro”.

“A prize fund of around EUR 60,000 is envisaged, while the number and amount of individual awards will be defined in the announcement for the competition. The delivery methods of the designs, as well as other relevant details, will also be announced in the tender’s announcement," said the Public Company.

Montenegro has in recent years, especially after joining NATO, confirmed the already existing image of a safe and secure destination, which is one of the main factors for a modern tourist when choosing a holiday destination, said PR Manager of the National Tourism Organization (NTO), Nina Vukcevic.

She said in a video statement posted on a Government Twitter account that in 2017, ten percent more tourists visited Montenegro, having realized six percent more overnight stays than in 2016.

"The growth trend was marked last year when we achieved records both in tourist turnover and in tourism revenue," said Vukcevic.

According to her, from 2016 to last year, there was a significant growth of tourists from the markets of Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States of America (USA) and Canada.

"The growth of the aforementioned markets is especially recorded this year," Vukcevic added.

She reminded that in the first four months of 2016, two thousand tourists from Germany visited Montenegro, and today that number is over 30 thousand for the same period.

"It's a really impressive result," Vukcevic concluded.

20 August 2019 - Savo Pavlovic will present his artwork at a retrospective exhibition of paintings "Records of Duration" on Thursday, August 22 at 7.30 pm at the Modern Gallery "Jovo Ivanovic" in Budva, as announced by Public Institutions Museums and Galleries of Budva (JU Muzeji i galerije Budve) Public Relations.

The exhibition will mark 50 years of the artist's work. Taking into account his rich artistic oeuvre, the exhibition will be staged in all exhibition spaces of the JU Museums and Galleries of Budva. Over 130 watercolors, drawings, paintings of different dimensions will be placed in the Red Commune Memorial House, the Rezevici Memorial House, the Jovo Ivanovic Modern Gallery and the Stefan Mitrov Ljubisa Memorial Home. The curators of the exhibition are Milijana Istijanović, MA and Jasmina Lazović, MA. The exhibition will be opened by Marin Ivanovic, MA, an art historian from Dubrovnik.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro Sandra Durbuzovic, Deputy Mayor of Budva Vladimir Bulatovic and Director of the Museums and Galleries of Budva, Lucija Djuraskovic, MA, will also speak at the opening.

In the accompanying catalog, art historian Marin Marinovic, MA, says: “We will make the greatest contribution to the consideration of Savo Pavlovic's entire artistic oeuvre if we start from the end, or if we emphasize a few final features of his more recent works. Namely, if we consider completely abstract ways of thinking about form in the Horizons cycle, which inherited the reference and descriptive landscapes of the native land, portraits, coastal waves and continental landscapes, and especially figurative motifs of marine fauna, do we understand them either as a natural consequence of the disintegration of form ... or , in turn, as a product of external influence, in response to external factors and the transposition of the perception of society into visual forms.

From that extreme, or today’s point, which has formal and social implications, we return to a very early work, A Portrait of Uncle Andrew from 1968, in which we can identify two important starting points in Pavlovic's painting. The first certainly represents the use of watercolours, which in later years came to its full maturity and characterized his entire artistic work; the necessary courage for such a commitment should not be overlooked, since it is undoubtedly one of the most demanding visual techniques, which, unlike any other, moves from light to dark and not vice versa, or in which it is only possible to add but not to take away, which also means that the possibility of repair is very limited, if not impossible. The second is the origin of its solid form, which we find as an authoritative personal determinant of the use of watercolours in later years.

Although this is seemingly incompatible with watercolor, that is, we might think that this undoes the peculiarities of this technique compared to others, we still need to establish how Pavlovic found his "formula", a specific and authentic amalgam of the sharpness and rigidity he wants to achieve, and of the indigenous and the inherent characteristics of the medium itself in terms of its laziness and softness. "

Savo Pavlovic was born in Bar in 1947. He graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Sarajevo, the Higher Pedagogical School - Fine Arts in Belgrade, and the Faculty of Fine Arts in Rijeka. In addition to his constant involvement in ateliers in his homes in Petrovac and Rezevici, he was also engaged in teaching. He is a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Montenegro. He is a participant in many collective exhibitions. He has had over twenty solo exhibitions so far. He studied in Rome (1976), Athens (1985) and Paris (1991).

The exhibition will be open until September 22nd.

The Bocce national team of Montenegro was a participant in the Nations Cup held in Belgrade over the weekend. In competition with Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, host Serbia and Slovenia, Montenegro took fifth place. The national team went to Zemun in a weakened form, but this check ahead of the most significant competitions this year, namely the World Youth Bocce Championship which will be held in September in Italy and the World Senior Championship which will be organized by Turkey in November, succeeded. Dozens of today’s most popular hits are coming to the turquoise arc led by the 21st century’s biggest producer, David Guetta. Other than Guetta performing on Addiko Main Stage powered by Tourist Organisation of Budva at the grand finale on Sunday, Friday will be marked by the world techno leaders Sven Väth and Richie Hawtin who are bringing the famous Exit Dance Arena spirit to Buljarica, while on Saturday the audience will enjoy performances by the German hitmaker Robin Schulz and French duo Offenbach. During the festival, buses from Nikšić will depart for Buljarica in front of the Monastery at 4 pm. Along the route, the buses will stop and take passengers in Danilovgrad at 4:30 pm at the roundabout, Podgorica at 5 pm in front of the Cathedral and Cetinje at 5:30 pm at the bus station.

During the festival, Ulcinj buses will depart for Buljarica beach at 5 pm from the bus station. On the route to Buljarica, the buses will stop and take passengers in Bar, at 6 pm at Topolica hall.

The arrival time of all buses to Buljarica is 8 pm from all locations, while the return from the festival for all buses is scheduled at 4 am.

The return ticket price from Podgorica is €18, Cetinje €16, Nikšić €29, Danilovgrad €23, Ulcinj €15, Bar €7, Herceg Novi €19, Kotor €14, Tivat €17. The ticket is purchased upon entering the bus just before departure.

On the Budva – Buljarica route, as well as Bar – Buljarica, a shuttle bus will be scheduled for transport – the best and easiest manner of transport to and from the festival, in order to reduce the need for individual arrival of visitors.

The shuttle transport will circulate continuously from 7 pm to 1 am each festival day towards Buljarica beach, at every half-hour mark. The return buses from Buljarica beach are scheduled between 1 am and 6 am, from the bus stop on the main road.

All departures from Budva will be organized from the stop at the Tre Canne building, at every half hour. On the way to Buljarica, the buses will stop and take passengers in Bečići at the bus stop at Mediteran hotel, on Sveti Stefan at the Adrović hotel and in Petrovac at the marketplace.

An exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci's drawings "Leonardo 500, Genius, Nature, Water and Sea" will be presented through the Foundation “Dan” in Herceg Novi, marking the 500th anniversary of his death.

According to the organizers, with this exhibition in Herceg Novi is included in the world program of 2019 celebrating the ingenious mind of Leonardo da Vinci.

"The author of the exhibition is Luigi Valerio of the Natural and Cultural Center “Lega Navale” in Rome. The production is by the Foundation “Dan”, translated from Italian by Maria Atanacković Holodkov, and produced by Sofia Holodkov.

This interesting exhibition will be open on Wednesday at park “Boka” and the interested audience will be able to see it for a few days.

The exhibition consists of 23 panels measuring 100 x 70 cm, with drawings by Leonardo da Vinci, in various fields of engineering, mechanics, natural sciences, and certainly for the first time in this area. It will be set up outdoors, in the “Boka” park in the city center, and will last from 21 to 25 August.

The exhibition "Leonardo 500, Genius, Nature, Water and Sea" will open on Wednesday, August 21 at 10 am by Dr. Tomislav Vukicevic.

The 60-passenger hybrid ship Gracijana will start operating on the route Tivat-Herceg Novi on Tuesday, as said from the company Bella Boka.

The company said the transfer from Tivat to Herceg Novi would take up to 25 minutes.

"The first departure by Gracijana hybrid ship, which can accommodate up to 60 passengers, is scheduled for Tuesday at 8 a.m. from Tivat to Herceg Novi. The route will run five times a day in both directions,” as said from Bella Boka.

As they stated, the first departure from Tivat, from Pine, to Herceg Novi will be every day at 8.30 a.m., and the next ones are at 12 p.m., 3.30 p.m., 7 p.m., and 10.30 p.m.

“From Herceg Novi to Tivat, the starting station will be the City port, and departure times are at 9.15 a.m., 12.45 p.m., 4.15 p.m., 7.45 p.m. and 11.15 p.m. The price per ticket on that line will be four euros in one direction, "the statement said.

Gracijana will also operate from Tivat to Kotor via Perast.

20 August 2019 - The Wild Beauty Art Festival, which was opened on August 19 at the Black Lake (Montenegrin: Crno jezero) in Žabljak by the famous guitar duo, Srđan Bulatović and Darko Nikčević, is a new quality segment of the Montenegrin tourist offer in the north, said State Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism and Sustainable Development, Damir Davidović for MINA Agency.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, which is being held for the first time, he said that the policy of development of the northern part of the country, in addition to significant infrastructure investments and increase of accommodation capacities, implies enrichment of the cultural offer with attractive programs of high quality.

“The Wild Beauty Art Festival is a new quality segment of our offer in the north, especially Žabljak. It is a project that we hope will really set new standards. Our wish is for the Wild Beauty Art Festival to become a significant cultural manifestation, which the north of Montenegro can be recognised for. We all admire KotorArt festival on the coast, and we hope to achieve great results for the north in that aspect as well," said Davidović.

Admission to all Wild Beauty Art events is free, and with the support of the Žabljak Tourist Organization, a free shuttle bus drive from the centre of Žabljak to the event is provided for all interested parties free of charge.

Some members of the team who organise KotorArt festival are participating in the implementation of the Wild Beauty Art Festival, providing even more active contribution in positioning Montenegro as a tourist destination that offers the highest quality artistic and cultural contents, not only on the coast, but this year also in the north of the country.

This year's Wild Beauty Art is focused on Durmitor and Žabljak and will run through Friday, with planned programs on Black Lake and locations such as Savin Kuk, Stećci, Sedlo and Đurđevića Tara Bridge.

During the five days, daily and evening concerts of different genres are planned, at different locations of Durmitor National Park.

On August 20^th, the program of the Wild Beauty Art Festival will include several performances.  Balázs Bágyi New Quartet will perform at the Black Lake at 7.30 p.m. This project was supported by the Hungarian Embassy as a segment of Weeks of Hungarian Culture in Montenegro program.
