November 26, 2019 - The movement "Odupri Se" is set to hit the streets again, and the next gathering is likely on Saturday, December 7, said movement representative Nikola Grdinic. He explained the new protests required a reorganization of the Odupri Se movement, as well as an analysis of previous work, primarily because of the wrong moves that were made.

"The protests must last. Everything that is happening on the political scene, as well as what lies ahead for us next year, will have a much more serious reach in terms of pressure on this arrogant government if we are mature to recognize the value of continuity of protest. The bottom line is that citizens need a guarantee that free elections will take place. No one guarantees it at this point. This authority has shown numerous times that she cannot be trusted and that she is ready for anything to survive. That is why, in the spring, we started a total boycott of all institutions, but we did not reach that goal. We are now in a situation of a partial boycott," Grdinic said.

As he pointed out, the Committee on Comprehensive Reform of Election and Other Legislation works in incomplete composition, as does the Parliament.

He sees the way out of many social problems only in the final unification of citizens on the street.

"It creates a counterweight to this government, and it is an announcement of control over those who will exercise power after the fall of the DPS. If the situation on the political scene happens to be used as an alibi for going to the polls next year, and these elections, in our estimation, are not sufficiently free, we will work to have protested on the election day and block the polls," Grdinic announced.

Asked how they view the announced protest of the Democratic Front, also in December, Nikola Grdinic said that they are looking forward to any rally aimed at overthrowing the regime.

"Within the idea of Odupri Se, there is also a section that promotes protest at all levels as one way of civic activism to raise the political awareness of every citizen. Thus, only a growing number of local protests and initiatives by individuals targeting social issues and fighting for the public interest are thorough, argumentative, and courageous. In all these activities, we see blows to the system created by this government on bad values, as well as the hope that an alternative will be created to such a system, and we must all contribute together," the Odupri Se representative Nikola Grdinic concluded.

November 26, 2019 - The Institute for Hydrometeorology and Seismology of Montenegro registered a devastating earthquake with the epicenter 12 km southeast of Durres, Albania, at 3.54 am on Tuesday, November 26. The quake killed six people and injured more than 300. After such a strong earthquake, an extensive series of earthquakes can be expected, suggest experts.

The magnitude of this earthquake at the epicenter was 6.1 units of the Richter scale, corresponding to the epicentral intensity of VIII-IX degrees of the Mercalli scale (MCS). The focal point of this earthquake was at a depth of 12 km.

The quake that hit Albania this morning was also strongly felt in Montenegro, as well as in other Western Balkan countries and Italy. It is the strongest instrumentally recorded earthquake in this area after the catastrophe that struck Montenegro in 1979, said Jadranka Mihaljevic, head of the Institute for Seismology.

A new strong earthquake of 5.3 degrees Richter was recorded at 7.10 am, followed by 36 minor earthquakes.
At least six people were killed in the quake, while more than 300 were injured, Albanian media reported.

Albanian President Ilir Meta said the situation in the town of Thumane, closest to the epicenter, was dramatic. "All efforts are being made to take people out of the ruins," he said and called the cabinet to request international assistance.

The defense ministry said at least six people had died, including two women found in the rubble of an apartment building in the northern village of Thumane, and a man who died in the town of Kurbin after jumping out of a building. Three people lost their lives in the western port city of Durres, 20 miles from Tirana, including two whose bodies were taken out of a collapsed building.

Emergency workers told local media one of those killed in Durres was an older woman who managed to save her grandson by shielding him with her body.

The health minister, Ogerta Manastirliu, said 300 injured people as in Durres, Tirana, and Thumane, with more arriving in hospitals.

All government agencies are on alert and are "intensively working to save lives in the fatal spots in Durres and Thumane," Prime Minister Edi Rama said. "It is a dramatic moment where we should stay calm, stay side by side to cope with this shock," he wrote on his Facebook page.
The coast of Albania and Montenegro is known as a shaky area, even before the use of modern methods of recording and measuring earthquakes.

"In addition to those recorded by modern devices, there are historical data, even in the area of Durres,  about powerful earthquakes. For example, in Durres, there is an arena that was demolished and subsequently excavated and testifies to the effects of earlier devastating countries," Mihaljevic said.

She said in the RTCG Morning Program that the earthquake was also strongly felt in Montenegro and that several minor ones preceded this earthquake in Albania.

"We can say that the September 21 earthquake of 5.8 Richter was a prelude to the activation of the seismogenic zone. The ground is still working. After such a strong earthquake, a large series of earthquakes can be expected. Usually, this calm lasts for several months," said Mihaljevic.

The business-residential building Porto Budva, worth EUR 80 million, will be completed by mid-2021, said sales manager Ana Golubovic, adding that about 60 percent of the works have been completed so far.

"Due to the great interest and the possibility of return on investment for only five years, today only 19 apartments are vacant in the complex of 300 apartments and only 20 out of 50 commercial premises," said Golubovic.

She said that investments in real estate under construction, the possibility of a passive income, and a return on investment within five to seven years are just some of the benefits of buying a property in the Porto Budva facility, as reported by Infobiro.

This is, according to Golubovic, about the number one investment project in Montenegro, for several reasons, including the location.

“The complex is being built in the center of Budva, on the first line, just 100 meters from the Old Town with access to the main Mediterranean street and promenade. Also, our team is engaged in the complete equipping of apartments within the brand of a five-star hotel, as well as the preparation of financial statements for our clients, whose apartments and business premises are for rent," said Golubovic.

The largest spa in the city of 3.5 thousand square meters is planned Within the hotel, with indoor and outdoor pools. The largest shopping mall of eight thousand square meters, is also planned, on two floors with well-known brands, a congress hall, restaurants, cafes, and two-story car parking with 400 garage spaces.

Golubovic reminded that Montenegro is one of the three countries with the most dynamic development in Europe, that it is a candidate for the European Union (EU) and a leader in the foreign investment on the Balkans.

Budva, the capital of tourism and investment, is still called the new Monte Carlo because of its pleasant tax climate and respect for the norms of European legislation and a stable notarial system, which overall contributes to the attractiveness of the Porto Budva project," Golubovic concluded.

November 24, 2019 - Montenegro has generated €1 billion and €16 million in tourism revenue in the first eleven months of this year, the director of the National Tourism Organisation Željka Radak Kukavicic told Nova M. According to her, this indicates that the upcoming winter tourist season will be hugely successful.

The year slowly coming to an end was more than successful when it came to tourism. According to the latest data, over two million tourists visited Montenegro in nine months and over 13.4 million overnight stays were recorded. A positive trend was also observed when it comes to finances.

"By November, according to the Central Bank, tourism revenues reached one billion and 16 million euros, while tourist tax revenues exceeded the figure of 9 million, which is a million and a half more than last year."

It also indicates that the upcoming winter tourist season will be hugely successful, says Radak Kukavicic. The season at the ski resorts will start soon, and this year's offer will be more substantial and more vibrant. If weather permits, the season will run until April 1 or 15.

"From the very beginning, there will be a ski resort in Kolasin, Zabljak, Berane, Rozaje, and the Vučje Ski Center. On December 14, we will officially open ski resorts in Kolasin, followed by other ski resorts, which will open the winter tourist season with a rich program."

How much has our country progressed as a tourist destination?

"Progress is evident; we have been recording it for decades in the tourism sector. We are witnessing that these are double-digit growth rates and that Montenegro is at the top of the list by the World Tourism Organization and the European Commission for Tourism when it is about its growth."

Adriatic Properties intends to build a new hotel in Zabljak, where Durmitor used to be. How significant are these foreign investments for promoting our country as an elite tourist destination?

"Something we will be proud of in Montenegro, especially when it comes to northern Montenegro.

The opening of the Durmitor Hotel in Zabljak by a brand that already manages hotels on the Coast will surely be one more quality in Montenegro and a message for other investors who have their brands in the coastal region to open hotels of that and similar categories in the north of Montenegro."

Radak Kukavičić pointed out that our country is well on its way to becoming a year-round tourist destination with an offer during all 365 days.

The National Tourism Organization, in cooperation with the local as well as the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism and the Tourism Economy, promotes our country in regional and European emission markets and emphasizes those markets with which we have functional aviation connectivity.
