08 November 2018 - The people of Herceg Novi, as well as their guests, will be able to enjoy the 2019 New Year in the open air. Organized by Tourist Organization and Municipality of Herceg Novi, a multi-day programme with rich accompanying contents is being prepared, along with the magnificent New Year's celebration in 2019, both at the location of the Youth Park - Igalo, and the Škver. The programme will be adapted to various musical tastes, so New Year's Eve will mark the hits of Riblja Čorba, Jelena Rozga, Sergej Ćetković, performances by Ljuba Stanković and many DJs.

The people of Herceg Novi and their guests will enjoy the hits of the Belgrade rock band "Riblja Čorba" and their frontman Bora Đorđević. They will perform on stage in Igalo on December 31st from 11 PM and as an intro band "Light under the black mountain" will start from 9 PM. On the same stage, the night before, December 30th, the Croatian pop singer Jelena Rozga and the winner of Pink's Stars Ljuba Stanković will create a great atmosphere starting from 12 PM, when the "Children's New Year" will be also organized.

A particularly interesting programme is being prepared for the youngest with the children's theater play "Enchanted Santa Claus". On January 1st, the show is reserved for the performance of the biggest domestic music star, Sergej Ćetković, while the band "Toć" will be an intro band. This, however, is only part of what people of Herceg Novi and guests can expect during the New Year holidays.

On 31 December and January 1, Škver will bring the sounds of electronic music, or more precisely the performances of popular DJs, while the daily parties will be organised as well during the New Year's holidays. Also, with the engagement of music stars from the former Yugoslavia, along with large, well-known hits and fireworks, Herceg Novi will proceed in the most beautiful way in New Year 2019.

08 November 2018 - The 10th International Istanbul Plants, Landscaping and Supporting Industries Trade Fair Flower Show Istanbul 2018, organised by CYF Trade Fairs Inc. and SÜSBİR (Turkish Ornamental Plants Growers Association), will be held in the TUYAP Büyükçekmece Fair Centre in Istanbul, Turkey from 22-24 November.

This annual Fair is one of the largest trade fairs for Horticulture in Turkey and it represents an excellent opportunity for experts from the industry to meet and make business contacts. According to the organisers, the main goal of this event is to showcase and strengthen the potential of Turkish companies in this industry and facilitate foreign companies to enter the Turkish market. The participants come from many different industries, like the floristry industry, garden industry, horticulture industry, landscaping industry, plants industry and many others. The Buyers Committee Program includes accommodation, bilateral meetings with Turkish companies, as well as a tour of the Flower Show Istanbul Fair, while travel costs are covered by participants.

08 November 2018 - The greatest international programme of marking the life and work of a film author in 2018 is dedicated to the centenary of the birth of the great Swedish director, producer and screenwriter Ingmar Bergman.

Ingmar Bergman (1918-2007) film and theatre director, scriptwriter, theatre manager, dramatist, and author would have been 100 years old in July 2018. During 2018 his 100th anniversary is celebrated worldwide. Bergman produced films for the cinema from the mid-1940s until 1983, after which he worked mainly for TV. He produced not only drama but also commercials, documentaries, and dance and opera films. During his career, he produced around 60 films and over 170 stage productions, and wrote various books and articles. Bergman’s creative work as a filmmaker ranks amongst the most important of the 20th century.

From November 7-10, at the Cineplexx Delta City Cinema in Podgorica, in cooperation with the Montenegrin Cinematheque, seven films by Ingmar Bergman will be shown: six representing the most significant poetic aspects of his work, and one documentary film, recorded on the island on which he spent the last year of life in solitude.

With this significant event, realized in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro, the Embassy of Sweden in Belgrade and the Swedish Institute, the Montenegrin Cinematheque will mark the European Year of Cultural Heritage - 2018.

November 8, 2018 -Montenegrin artist Lena Nikčević will take part in the prestigious ARTMUC, the Contemporary Art Salon in Munich.

The ARTMUC Contemporary Art Salon, which is being held for the fifth time in the “Isaforum” building on Prater Island in Munich, will feature a significant contemporary art scene from Munich - 150 artists and galleries.

Over the past five years, ARTMUC was seen by more than 40,000 visitors.


Lena Nikcevic was born in 1977 in Podgorica. After three years of painting studies at the Cetinje Faculty of Fine Arts, she graduated in 2001 and received her MA in 2003 at the High School of Fine Arts in Tours (France).

At the site of the abandoned factory, near Tours, in Saint-Pierre, "Les Ateliers de la Morinerie" - an association of art workshops was founded, at an area of 15,000 square meters.

She actively supports herself from her creativity.

Her works are featured in numerous private collections in the country and abroad, as well as in numerous institutional collections in France, for example, the Municipality of Tours.

She has exhibited independently in several countries, and has participated in numerous collective exhibitions throughout Europe.

The ARTMUC Contemporary Art Salon, which is being held for the fifth time in the “Isaforum” building on Prater Island in Munich, will take place from November 8th till 11th.

November 8, 2018 - Through the cooperation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Podgorica, a workshop was held with the aim to present the best practices and approaches for improving the placement and achieving a sustainable supply chains of domestic fruits and vegetables.

The workshop was realized as part of the project "Support the sustainable integration of value chains in the fruit and vegetable sector in Montenegro", which is implemented by the Ministry with FAO.

As a key obstacle to increasing the competitiveness of domestic producers in the fruit and vegetable sector, there is a lack of connectivity between entities participating in the chain from production to marketing.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that the association of producers can lead to better planning of production, purchase, and placement of products.

At the same time, strengthening the connections and the relationship between producers and customers, including retailers, is essential for making a sustainable supply chain and achieving greater competitiveness of the producers.

The main goal of this workshop is to raise the awareness of the producers about the importance of their organization through agricultural cooperatives. It is a way to strengthen connections and build long-term relationships between suppliers and traders.

Also, experiences on the best practices for placement and transport, as well as packaging and labeling of fresh fruits and vegetables were exchanged, in accordance with the European regulations and standards.

The workshops were attended by producers and representatives of associations, representatives of retail chains and entities engaged in the purchase and distribution of fruits and vegetables.

November 8, 2018 - The architectural bureau "ING-INVEST" from Danilovgrad donated a project to the Clinical Center of Montenegro for the adaptation of part of the first floor in the main building, where the Transfusion Center used to be, for the needs of the Center for Medical Genetics and Immunology, worth 8,500 euros.

According to the KCCG, the project was handed over to the director of that institution, Jevta Eraković, by the owner of “Ing Invest”, architect Radulović Veselin-Bato.

KCCG is the only health institution in Montenegro that carries out genetic and immunological diagnostics.

The Center for Medical Genetics and Immunology CMGI was founded in 2000 and represent a significant segment of KC intended for modern diagnostics of genomic diseases and disorders of the immune system.

About 11,000 patients annually need the necessary diagnostics in CMGI, including prenatal diagnosis for all pregnant women in Montenegro who are at increased risk of hereditary diseases," said the Clinical Center.

They add that, given the importance of CMGI, not only for KCCG, but also for the Montenegrin health system in general, Erakovic and Radulovic expressed mutual satisfaction with the realization of this valuable donation.

"By adapting the new space, we will provide better conditions for the work of the Center for Medical Genetics and Immunology," said the Clinical Center.

07 November 2018 - Montenegro's accession to the European Union and the implementation of comprehensive reforms on this path are in the interest of the Montenegrin citizens and the economy, Chief Negotiator for Montenegrin Accession to the European Union Aleksandar Drljević and Ambassador of Sweden to Montenegro Jan Lundin concluded at the meeting held on November 7.

The two officials stated that in the current accession process, Montenegro has already reached the standards of European Union member states in some areas and that there are reasons for satisfaction with the achieved results.

The Chief Negotiator Drljević pointed out that the Government is committed to implementing comprehensive reforms, not because of membership in the European Union, but primarily because of improving the living standards of its citizens. In addition, he added that membership in NATO and the European Union contributes to security and stability and strengthens the voice of Montenegro in the world.

Bearing in mind the new approach to the negotiations, Chief Negotiator Drljević stated that the Government is fully committed to meeting the obligations under Chapters 23 and 24 that form the core of the negotiation process. He added that he is hopeful that the remaining two negotiating chapters will soon be opened, adding that there are several chapters in which all obligations are fulfilled and are ready for temporary closure.

Ambassador Lundin congratulated him on the achieved results by pointing out that Montenegro is the most advanced Western Balkan country in the European Union accession process, and that it enjoys the full support of Sweden for membership of the Union.

He said that the process of negotiations is now much more demanding than it was in the previous enlargements of the Union and that great efforts and demanding reforms are needed, especially in the areas of the rule of law and environmental protection.

07 November 2018 - The Festival of Fall Colours will be held on Saturday, November 10 at several locations on the promenade in the Marina resort Luštica Bay. The event will include a painting colony, a collection of local delicacies, and a folklore performance.

The "Autumn Table", as a part of the programme of the Festival, will present local gastronomic specialties created by the agronomic producers from Tivat and Nikšić.

Fans of the autumn landscape will be able to enjoy the colours of this season which will be painted on canvas during the painting colony "Colours of Fall" by students of two primary schools and a high school centre from Tivat. Works of colony participants will be presented in the exhibition on the occasion of the Day of Tivat Municipality on November 21. The event will also include the participation of children from the "Kadena" Cultural and Art Centre, who will promote Montenegrin folk dances.

Free transportation will be organised from Kotor (in front of the Employment Bureau) and Tivat (old bus station), departing at 11 AM each, and going back from Luštica Bay at 5 PM.

07 November 2018 - The "Tradition of dance and music in Central Europe" Manifestation started on Tuesday, November 6, with the organization "Open Dance House" - interactive music and dance evenings featuring artists from five Central European countries and Montenegro with interested fellow citizens.

The main goal of the organizers of this event is for participants to teach each other different dance moves and steps as parts of traditional dance types of the country from which they come from. During this event, the participants also wanted to emphasize their countries’ customs and tradition.

This two-day international event began with an interactive music and dance spectacle in which numerous dance enthusiasts participated, and on Wednesday, November 7, a gala concert was held at the Great Hall of the Cultural Information Centre “Budo Tomović“, starting at 8 pm, for which the citizens showed great interest.

The concert featured music duo Agnes Palmisano and Andreas Teufel (Austria), Tomáš Kočko & Orchestra (Czech Republic), Zagyva Bend (Hungary), Tęgie Chłopy Band (Poland) musician Vladimir Homola (Slovakia) and Folklore Ensemble CIC “Budo Tomović".

The second night of the manifestation was opened by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Dražen Blažić, Hungarian Ambassador to Montenegro, József Négyesi and Snežana Burzan, director of CIC "Budo Tomovic".

07 November 2018 - Successful implementation of joint activities of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro and the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) is a good basis for continuing cooperation in the direction of further strengthening regional and international cooperation in the field of border security, it was concluded at today's meeting of Montenegrin Minister Mevludin Nuhodžić with Director of DCAF Ljubljana and DCAF Border Security Programme for Southeast Europe Anton Travner.

Minister Nuhodžić expressed his gratitude for the continued assistance provided by DCAF to Montenegro, especially in the area of cross-border police cooperation, exchanging experiences and the implementation of training, and highlighted his satisfaction with previous joint actions under the DCAF Border Security Programme.

The meeting was an opportunity to share impressions on the recently implemented joint police operation "Tuzi 2018", which was conducted with the support of representatives of European agencies Europol, Frontex and IOM, which confirmed that Montenegro is working proactively in the prevention of illegal migration and cross-border crime. Both sides agreed that the operation was extremely successful, both in terms of detecting migratory routes and exchanging information between the police and the implementation of the readmission procedure with the Republic of Albania.

While expressing full support for Montenegro in the area of border security, Director DCAF Ljubljana Anton Travner praised Montenegro's progress so far and expressed the expectation that good dynamics will continue, with a special focus on further improving technical capacities at the border, strengthening human resources and strengthening the mutual cooperation of police officers in the field of combating cross-border crime and illegal migration.

The meeting also discussed activities planned for the next period within the DCAF Border Security Programme, and the readiness of Montenegro to continue its participation in operations and projects in order to achieve modern standards in this area.

November 7, 2018 - The Austrian archaeological institute, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, conducted a research project of the Austro-Hungarian fortifications in Montenegro.

An expert team of six specialists, coordinated by Lili Zabran, conducted a two-week research of the fortresses Gorazde and Kosmac, which were selected for detailed assessment and preparation of basic documentation. Since further use requires detailed construction surveys, the implemented project has focused on forming documentation and assessing the damage to further planning.

The results of the campaign are the basis for the development of a future project, which, in addition to military research, will include research into documentation and realization of the construction of fortifications, maintenance, and establishing communication and supply in times of war and peacetime. Information will also be collected on soldiers stationed in fortresses, as well as their interaction with the civilian population. The subject of the research will be the use of fortresses during the Second World War as well as during the former Yugoslavia.

Experts from the Center for Archeology and Conservation of Montenegro and the Directorate for the Protection of Cultural Property followed the activities carried out on the terrain by the representatives of the Archaeological Institute of Austria.

The project is implemented on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Archaeological Institute of Austria, signed by the Ministry of Culture in June 2018, which envisages cooperation in the field of education and training of professional staff in the field of protection and preservation of cultural goods as well as the joint action in the field of protection of immovable cultural goods.

Support for the realization of this project was provided by the Embassy of Austria in Montenegro, as well as the municipalities of Budva and Kotor.
