The program of spatial planning in the Bjelo Polje municipality in 2019 will cost 22,030,181 euros, mostly for the continuation of works on the valorization of the mountain Bjelasica (4.120.000) and Đalovića cave (3.450.000), as well as the construction of a waste treatment plant, (1.169.834 euro).

The funds will be provided from the capital budget of the Municipality (EUR 2.893.000), the operational budget (882.000), loans with the European Investment Bank (40.800), the Directorate of Public Works (9.473.000), the Directorate for Transport (5.420.000) (2.103.147), EIB loan (569.834) and donations for construction of the plant (600.000).

In the construction of facilities of particular importance for the Municipality, EUR 15,179,834 will be allocated.

In the next year, reconstruction of the railway station will begin, for which 300,000 euros is planned, in continuation of works on the valorization of the mountain Bjelasica and Đalovića cave.

For the local infrastructure, 2,182,000 is allocated, which will be spent on the construction of the first phase of the city road in Resnik (228,000), access ramp to the bridge in Njegnjevo with public lighting (50,000), reconstruction of the Museum building (65,000), construction of Mojkovacka Street (150,000), which is also the amount of money for asphalting the municipal roads, which will be invested by the Municipality and the Directorate of Public Works.

160,000 euros will be invested in the construction and reconstruction of the water supply system (Zaton, Kanja, Babić brijeg water supply and reconstruction of water supply Sefersko and Radičko vrelo, and continuation of works on the water supply system Kradenik-Vrba), and for electricity facilities - 2,103,147 euros. 100,000 euros will be spent in the reconstruction of schools, and 50,000 in the city stadium renovation.

They plan to invest 370 thousand euros for the beginning of the construction of the elementary school "Dusan Korać", 150,000 euros for the gymnasium in Njegnjevo, a preschool institution in the upper part of the city 200,000 euros, while for the construction of the wastewater treatment plant 1,169,834 will be invested.

In the relocation of the city water pipeline Rakonje-Ribarevina for the reconstruction of the main road, 420,000 euros will be invested, the reconstruction of the main road Rakonje (traffic lights) - Ribarevine 2,800,000 euros will be invested, and the reconstruction of the same M21 main road, Bar Border bridge Dobrakovo third lane, will see  2,200,000 euros.

The Secretariat for Development Projects published an announcement for the selection of agents for mediation when applying for Montenegrin citizenship through investments and agents for assessing the international suitability of candidates.

From the Government's Public Relations Service, it was announced that the applications could be submitted until February 1^st, 2019.

"The applicant submits a request for acquiring Montenegrin citizenship by admission based on a special program, through a mediation agent, while the assessment of its international eligibility is carried out by an international rating agency, including proof of the origin of the money. The Secretariat for Development Projects will decide on the selection of agents within 30 days from the date of the public opening of the applications and will be published on the Secretariat's website. After the decision is made, the Government will conclude an agreement with the selected agents, on the basis of which the Secretariat for Development Projects will issue licenses to them, and only on the basis of the licenses issued, the agents can carry out their activities within the said program," the Government explained.

If it is subsequently established that a person who has acquired Montenegrin citizenship by admission in accordance with the decision has provided false information or deliberately concealed facts and circumstances, as well as in case the international eligibility assessment agent has submitted inaccurate data in his report for that person, a decision on loss of citizenship will be made.

"All procedures will be transparent, and, as far as these stages of the process are concerned, the opening of applications will be public. The responsible applicants or their authorized representatives will have the right to attend.

Government Decision on criteria, method, and procedure for the selection of a person who can acquire Montenegrin citizenship by admission for the implementation of a particular investment program of special importance for the economic and business interest of Montenegro is applied from 1^st January 2019. Based on this decision, 2,000 Montenegrin passports can be issued at the top, in the next three years.

The goal of the Government Program is to further accelerate Montenegro's economic development by creating new tourist, agricultural and processing capacities and creating new jobs.

January 8, 2019 - “Kotor was also on the list of the world's best destinations for 2018 and thus justified the same status as 2017. It is a remarkable result given that the names of the world's metropolises are most frequently mentioned destinations in that list," the Kotor Tourist Organization’s director Ana Nives Radovic told Radio Kotor.

January 8, 2019 - The Municipality of Tivat will publish a public call at least once a year for funding projects for the valorization of cultural heritage in the area of the city. These projects will be financed from part of the money collected from the tourists on the basis of the sojourn tax.

According to the law, 10% of the means of collecting the sojourn tax is dedicated to "projects of valorization of cultural heritage, relating to archaeological research, conservation and restoration works, reconstruction and promotion of cultural goods."

Therefore, starting this year, the Municipality of Tivat will publish a public call for funding projects for the valorization of cultural heritage in the area of Tivat after the adoption of the regular annual Financial Report of the Tourism Organization.

"Cultural tourism represents an important component of the tourist offer, and in this regard, it is necessary to pay special attention to the valorization of cultural heritage. The Act on the Protection of Cultural Property regulates the types and categories of cultural goods, the ways of defining the protection, the regime and the protection measures, the rights, and obligations of the owners and holders of cultural goods as well as other issues of importance and preservation of cultural goods. The promotion of the cultural heritage of Montenegro, according to the national development program, is carried out in the context of sustainable development and, among other things, its promotion for investments is necessary to revitalize and preserve it," stated the Municipality, adding that the Law on Residence Taxing offers the possibility of establishing a special fund for the valorization of cultural heritage, in the amount of 10 percent of the collected funds and fees.

Tivat’s local authority also appointed a special commission for the selection of cultural heritage valorization projects, made by Secretary of the Municipal Secretariat for Cultural and Social Affairs, Mr. Dubravka Nikčevič, Director of TO Tivat Gabrijela Glavocic and Director of the Museum and Gallery Tivat Jelena Bujišić.

A record of allocation and spending of resources for cultural heritage valorization projects will be conducted by the Tourist Organization Tivat and reported to the National Tourist Organization quarterly, and the Tivat Municipal Assembly once a year.

TO Tivat received over EUR 300,000 in revenue from the tourist tax-paying fee in 2017, which means that some 30,000 euros would be allocated annually for projects of valorization of cultural heritage.

08 January 2019 - The completion of the latest Government project of building a ski centre in Kolašin will turn this city into a serious winter destination in Europe. Since the project is complete, Mount Bjelasica now has 250 km of ski slopes!

The new ski resort, Kolašin 1600, will soon host its first guests, and judging by the latest photographs by the Ski Resorts of Montenegro, there will be enough snow for all.

As announced on the Facebook page of the Ski Resorts of Montenegro, the construction workers of this ski resort are putting a great effort for the resort to accommodate its guests without any problems.

The infrastructure of the Kolašin 1600 Ski Centre, with accompanying equipment, will include a total of about 4,6 kilometres of ski slopes, with one six-seater lift installed, reported the representatives of the Government of Montenegro. The contractor for the cableway at the Kolašin 1600 site is the Austrian company - Doppelmayr, the world's leading manufacturer of ropeways, cable cars, and ski lifts. With the completion of works on the 1600 location, Montenegro will get a new ski resort owned by the state. By building the access road, infrastructure and cableway, the state wants to create conditions for attracting investors who will build more accommodation capacities and further develop the ski center.

For the winter season 2018/2019, the complex will include a restaurant with a capacity of 400 seats, ski store for ski equipment rental, and the plans include a ski school with ski instructors.

The state invested 50 million EUR in the Kolašin 1600 Ski Resort project. When commenting on the Kolašin 1600 Project, Prime Minister of Montenegro highlighted: "I believe that Kolašin and Montenegro are getting a new content that will contribute not only to the development of our tourism but also to the entire Montenegrin economy."

08 January 2019 - Luxury Complex Lazure Marina & Hotel, which has significantly changed the look of Meljine and enriched the tourist offer of Herceg Novi, continues its planned extension.

The hardest and most demanding part of the entire construction of Lazure Marina and Hotel complex was to make a hotel out of the historic building of Lazaret, dating back to the 18th century, reports the local News Agency Radio Jadran.

The Lazure Spa, which construction is in progress and is being built as a beautiful building overlooking the marina and the sea, is soon to be completed. The construction and equipping of the Spa Centre cost about 2 million EUR. The Spa includes five types of sauna, Jacuzzi two massage rooms, dressing rooms, a reception desk, and a swimming pool. The complex also includes a gym, a yoga room, a beauty salon, and massage treatment rooms.

The Executive Director of the Lazure Complex, Anna Martynova,  has recently given an interview for Radio Jadran, in which she explained the concept of the Spa: “Work is underway at the Spa Centre, where we first need an expert spa manager. Initially, five employees will be required, and five more people will be employed before the summer season. The Spa is a beautiful building overlooking the marina and the sea. Only Sveti Stefan Complex and Lazure can boast of such a position for their Spa Centre.”

Lazura Marina complex is also currently under construction. The Marina will include 220 berths, and 10 million EUR is invested in this project. The owners of the complex have recently started building an annex building, which, according to the project is a new hotel segment and will have up to 150 rooms and apartments for rent. The opening of the annex building is planned for the spring of 2020.

The company Lazure Montenegro has invested about 32 million EUR in this five-star complex.

January 8, 2019 - The new bus station the Municipality of Herceg Novi is planning to construct at the Šištet site, will be the highlight of the development and improvement of the quality of life of citizens in Igalo, but also the entire city. In the conceptual design solution, the architects from the "Grad" studio defined the surface, the contents and the appearance of this modern bus station and recently presented their work to the leaders of the local government.

 

The first of the three planned stages implies building a central bus station building with a supporting business space. In the next two phases, the investors will develop the premise of accompanying business facilities and maintenance, and the facility of the market center. All of the contents mentioned above connect the greenery and traffic areas in one functional system and ambiance.

08 January 2019 - From February 22-24, Mountaineering Club Subra is organising a night climb of 1679 meters to Subra, a peak on Mount Orjen. They named this tour “The Night of the Full Moon”.

Although there is still more work to be done in relations to the organisation and more detailed instructions for the tour participants, everyone who wants to get experience the sunrise and a great day in the snow with a good company and some warm tea can apply for this unique experience within the next few days.

The interest for this event is already rising, and the interested parties are mostly the mountaineers who have already experienced this adventure and did not want to miss it this year either. The only problem that remains to be resolved is the issue of accommodation in the Mountaineering Home Za Vratlom, which is limited to 50 to 70 beds, which we have to reserve to our friends who come outside of Herceg Novi. On the other hand, the House is open for daily fellowship and welcomes everyone who wants to join us on the tour days.

“This is a tour that takes about 2-3 hours with a larger group; it depends on the snow. All those who want to climb must bring winter equipment. Members of the Hiking Section and the Protection and Rescue Service are in charge of guiding the tour and the safety issues during the course. The Subra Peak is more demanding than the other peaks, so this tour is recommended for those who have passed the basic course in winter hiking. Departure is about 2 or 3 hours in the morning, to wait for the sunrise at the top. At that particular time, when we reach the peak, the sun and moon are in the same "line." Witnessing this is, in fact, the goal of ascent,” says the President of the Mountaineering Club Subra, Duško Avramović.

08 January 2019 - Caravan Mimosa from Herceg Novi, with traditional trombones, City music, and beautiful majorettes, will mark the beginning of the 50th Mimosa Festival. The caravan represents a tradition of this holiday that is always celebrated with ovations from all guests. Participants of the Caravan always come to a warm welcome and great atmosphere by a large number of gathered citizens, which is also expected this year.

This year, with their music and dance, the participants of Caravan Mimosa will visit numerous cities and invite all citizens to come to Herceg Novi. They will also share promotional flyers and yellow mimosa flowers, by which this winter festival is named.

The Jubilee 50th Mimosa Festival will "unofficially" begin tomorrow when at 4 o'clock in the morning the first of the three Mimosa Caravans depart from Herceg Novi to Vienna with about 60 Caravan participants who announce the flower festival, spring and Herceg Novi summer tourist season 2019. During the following three days, aside from Vienna, the Caravan will visit Novi Sad, Vrbas and Belgrade.

50th Mimosa Festival will officially begin on February 1, with the performance of the regional pop star Zdravko Čolić.

By the Mimosa Fest, the Herceg Novi Tourist Organisation and the leaseholders from the city, have already organised weekend accommodation arrangements named "Mimoza". This arrangement includes the offer of 3 overnights which amount to 45 EUR per person, five overnights amount to 70 EUR, and seven overnights are 90 EUR. It is also possible to arrange meals in one of the restaurants from the city.

Traditionally, Mimosa Caravan will promote the Mimosa Festival and winter and summer offer of Herceg Novi in the cities of Western Europe, Serbia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina and Montenegro. Until March 22, the Caravan will organise numerous festivities, masquerades, street performances, international encounters, exhibitions, theater performances, and sports events.

The Caravan departs on January 9 for Vienna, followed by Vrbas, Novi Sad, Zrenjanin and Belgrade. The next weekend the Caravan will visit Višegrad, Zlatibor, Bijeljina and Banja Luka. In its third round, the participants of the Caravan will, before the very beginning of the Mimosa Festival, visit Slovenia, i.e., Ljubljana, Novo Mesto, and Kranj.

07 January 2019 - The General plan for the open sea has been adopted, tuna conditions in Montenegrin waters is good, and the opening of small businesses in the hinterland that would deal with fish processing would bring enormous profits to Montenegro, said Aleksandar Joksimović, head of the Laboratory for ichthyology and marine fisheries at Institute of Marine Biology in Kotor.

"So far, the progress in this area has been achieved in the organization of fishermen and associations, with the help of creation of clusters, and the awareness of fishermen that joint, teamwork can achieve results," said Joksimović.

Fishing the small oily fish, tuna farming, the development of a fish processing factory, as well as the logistics on the coast, can bring the Montenegrin economy the brand as something from the southern Adriatic - high salinity and clean water.

"Economically important species in fishing in the Mediterranean and the Adriatic Sea are hake, red mullet, shrimps, octopuses, but as well as the European pilchard and anchovy. For each of these species, a complete study is already carried out, which resulted in biological and economic limits which state that their fishing is limited to a certain number of tons," Joksimović reminded.

Members of the General Fisheries Commission of the Mediterranean have decided to increase the quota that has been set up in Montenegro to up to 50 tons of oily fish, European pilchard and anchovy. The new quota applies to all other Adriatic countries as well, and it is increased for up to 2.5 tons.

During the mid-December 2018, Montenegrin prosciutto became the new product under protection in Montenegro, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

“Natural environment, climate conditions in the region of production, long tradition of production and a good reputation of this product, that extends over the boundaries of this region form the basis for the protection of this product as a specific and authentic product. The impact of the geographical surroundings, climate and the skillfulness in the application of special recipe, is responsible for the prosciutto that is highly respected among the consumers, especially tourists who visit Montenegro,” said the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture.
