October 26, 2020 - Roaming in the Western Balkans region will be abolished entirely on July 1, 2021. The announcement was made today at the opening of the third Digital Summit of the Western Balkans, hosted by Tirana this year.

At the opening of the online summit, to be held until October 28, the Secretary-General of the Regional Cooperation Council, Majlinda Bregu, said that Belgrade's historic agreement in 2019 began the phasing out of roaming. It will end on July 1, 2021, and the third step will be to reduce additional call costs between WB and EU countries.

"The agreement from Belgrade has made a big step forward, and the third step, which will be in the medium-term, is to reduce roaming between the WB and the EU. Preparations for this step have already been started, and the related activities will be presented during the next digital summit," said Bregu.
