14 October 2018 - The Moračica Bridge, located on the priority section of the Bar-Boljare highway, will be operational by the end of next year and one of the reasons is unrealistic deadlines, as announced by the supervisor of the construction of the highway, Jovan Jovanović, on the ABS TV show broadcasted by RTCG.
"Based on the dynamics that we get from the contractor, the works will take place in the next year as well. On the basis of this dynamic, and I think that this is the real dynamic from the aspect of carrying out the works, we expect that the construction works should be completed in August next year" Ivanović said.
He explained that works on asphalt, equipment, reflective fencing, installations on the bridge and similar activities need to be executed after the completion of the project.
"And all of that, of course, will take some time. We expect that by the end of next year we should have a bridge in full functionality," Ivanović said.
As RTCG recalls, the contract envisaged that all works on the section of the highway should be completed by May 2019. When asked whether the completion of the bridge on Moračica will include the completion of all other works on the highway, Ivanović said: "Based on the plans and dynamics we get from the contractor, which depends on the weather conditions, the complexity of the works etc., we can expect that everything will be completed by the end of next year."
One of the reasons for the delay, he said, might be the unrealistic time limit. "Perhaps the expectations regarding the completion of the technical documentation or the main project are also underestimated, but in general, if we follow these dynamics, and if all sides give their biggest effort, we can obtain high quality of the work, which is the most important," Ivanović said.
