03 October 2018 - "It is a real pleasure to get such a device and put it into service for our citizens," said the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, on the occasion of commissioning the most contemporary Magnetic Resonance device, MR Skyra, produced by Siemens. This is a device of the latest generation with technical possibilities of providing the most contemporary MR imaging and its price amounts 1,4 million EUR.
Đukanović said that Montenegrin society is faced with a challenge related to the improvement of the quality of life. As he explained, these challenges refer to: healthcare protection, education, and employment.
“What is important is people’s trust. We had opportunities to ask ourselves whether the trust of people regarding the health care system is at the appropriate level,” said Đukanović, adding that there is space for improvement.
“If we want our children to stay here, if we want that these devices are used by people who were born here and who acquired knowledge here, if we want people to have trust in the expertise of the people who work here, then we have to ask ourselves if we can do more to make everything better, to improve the organization, if we can improve the healthcare system of Montenegro. Do we all recognize the importance of health protection?,” noted Đukanović.
He also added that “If we could make Aman, Regent, Porto Novi, then we should see if we are able to provide quality healthcare services”.
Branimir Vlahović, Director of the Center for Radiology Diagnostics, said that the strength of the device equals 3 Tesla cars. This device is supposed to bring the quality of examinations at higher level and reduce the number of patients who would be otherwise referred elsewhere.
