26 September 2018 - Earnings of employees in the public sector will not be reduced, while pensions will be in the process of harmonization, as reported by the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro.
“The Ministry of Finance did not plan the amendments to the Law on Public Sector Salary System in the domain of reduction of coefficients, which means there will not be a reduction in salaries,” said representatives of the Ministry of Finance.
They also announced that there will not be any reductions of pensions.
“We will keep harmonizing pensions, according to the defined formula. The Law on Budget defines funds for regular payment of pensions and it will be so in the future,” as noted by the Ministry of Finance.
It was announced in July that by the end of 2018, the Ministry of Administration would reduce the number of employees in public administration at the local level. They also planned a 3% reduction at the central level.
