09 August 2018 - World-renowned director, Emir Kusturica, will perform at this year's KotorArt Don Branko’s Music Days as a musician. With his ensemble The No Smoking Orchestra, they will present themselves to the Kotor audience on Friday, August 10th at the Summer Stage, starting at 10 PM.
By the nature of the nomads, the joys and symbols of freedom, these musicians fall into significant phenomena of the antiglobalists (musical) movement and are a kind of paradox of the environment from which they come.
They are more famous and recognized on the international scene than in their own country, successfully celebrated all over the world, from Paris, Vienna, Berlin, Madrid, and Moscow to Buenos Aires, Tokyo, New York, Tel Aviv, Sao Paolo and Sydney.
The first decade of action, with recognizable “unza unza” sound, the rhythm of a guitar based on the fast two-quarters meter of Serbian Folk Kolo, a Balkan version of rumba, which unites the characteristics of rock, the Gypsy Tympanum and the Šumadija’s rhythm in combination with many other "border" artistic concepts of 20th century - confirms that in times of increasing misunderstanding, there is play/dance music with irresistible content, because "there are no legs that can remain calm" while the Orchestra plays. Among the released compact discs are Life is a Miracle (2004), Live in Buenos Aires (2005), Time of the Gypsies (2007), The Best of (2009), Unza Unza Time (2013), Corps diplomatique (2018).
