17 July, 2018 - The play "Filomena Marturano", in the co-production of the Culture Center Tivat and the Podgorica City Theater, will be performed on Wednesday, July 18th on a small stage in the atrium of the medieval summer house "Buća-Luković" in Tivat.
Based on the play written by Italian playwright and philosopher Eduardo de Filipe, the performance was directed by Jagoš Marković, who is also responsible for the stage design and sound design. The costume was done by Dragana Ognjenovic, and the actors are Anita Mančić, Branimir Popović, Jelisaveta Seka Sablić, Vlastimir Đuza Stojiljković, Marija Bergam, Andrea Mugoša, Emir Ćatović, Božidar Zuber, Momčilo Otašević and Simo Trebješanin.
Jagoš Marković, born on June 22, 1966, in Podgorica, is one of the most prominent theater directors of Montenegro and the entire region. He directs the most important world-class titles and domestic classics in the National Theatre in Belgrade, where he is the permanent director since 2008. He has also directed more than fifty performances in other theatres in the country and abroad. The director Marković is the winner of fifty professional, festival and state awards, among which are: Bojan Stupica Award, Belgrade Liberation Award, Tinaestojulska nagrada, Mića Popovic Award, Prize for a Total Contribution to the Creation of Montenegro, City of Belgrade Award, City of Podgorica Award, Sterijina Award, Zlatni ćuran Award, Ardalion Award, etc.
“Filomena Marturano”, with the intriguing interpretation of the text by de Filipe, is full of passion, emotions and humor. The play is an intimate drama of two people connected by their feelings and passion but separated by life and social conditions. “Filomena Marturano” arouses the most diverse emotions among its viewers, and therefore it represents both drama and a good comedy. The play lures with its contents and the story of love, marriage, intrigue, and a plot that is not directly connected to today’s social reality. Realistic scenography, elegant costumes and music background with a high-quality acting performance contribute to the overall experience of spectators who absorb emotions from the scene. After the premiere, the play experienced fantastic criticism, and the audience could not be sated with the incredible on-stage sensations.
