July 16, 2018 - Within the Days of Music event, which is annually held in Herceg Novi for the 35th time, July 15th was marked with the performance of the Czech chamber trio, composed of cellist Bledar Zajmi, flutist Miroslav Matejk and pianist Ilirijana Gjoni. A programme was designed for geniune enjoyment – the famous trio had no problems performing the pieces and works of Grig, Sen-Sans, Dvoržak, Weber and Piazzolla. The audience at Park Hall (Dvorana Park) rewarded artists with cordial applauses after each performance and at the final performance, they chanted for more.

“I played here 10 years ago with Boris Kraljević and the Glinka Quartet. I've known Boris for 12 years, he wanted me to play with Miroslav Matejk this year and to perform in Herceg Novi. I love this city very much. It was a wonderful experience with the cooperation with Ilirijana and Miroslav. We played a chamber program from Grig, Piazzolla and Weber, and we hope that next time we will have the opportunity to play this programme again,” said cellist of Czech chamber trio Zajmi.

Zimmi praised the festival's program because it includes instrumentalists from Japan, which is, as he noted, fantastic because music must connect people and cultures.

Lidija Skender, a distinguished Montenegrin artist and music teacher, was also part of the audience at Czech chamber trio concert.

“That is a wonderful feeling. I am especially glad that as a young musician I was a participant at the Days of Music in Herceg Novi, and I am particularly pleased that my students are continuing to do so. Thanks to the professor and maestro Kraljević, with my long-term cooperation, I sent my students to Master Class with him. I have a wonderful feeling and I would like my students to make even more progress and to present themselves. Ilirijana lives abroad and Andrija is studying, but I hope that they both return since I would love to see them improving their homeland,” Skender said.

About the young pianist Andrija Jovovic, who thrilled the audience with a recent performance at the beginning of the Music Day, his professor says that he is very modest and always asks from himself more and more and that his success has yet to be talked about.

Also, within the Days of Music, on July 16, starting at 9.30 PM, the Ensemble of Tokyo is scheduled to perform at Park Hall (Dvorana Park). They are globally recognized as the best solo assembly coming from Japan.

The Ensemble was founded in 1986 by Japanese flutist Chang-Kook Kim and today it is composed of 18 high-class musicians. For the occasion in Herceg Novi, six of them are going to perform: Azusa Nakayama and Satoki Aoyama at the Oboe, Kaoru Ono at the Viola, Natsumi Tamai and Tomoko Yoshimura at the Violin and Shinsuke Hagawa on the Cello. These artists have finished the National Music Academy and have high references in their own country, altogether with the fact that they all sound like one.
