The fair will be open to both high school students interested in undergraduate studies, athletic and academic scholarships, and university students who would like to continue their postgraduate education in the United States. Representatives from 13 U.S. universities will provide information about their schools and degree programs and talk about the possibilities of studying in the United States. Also, the Education USA representatives will share information about the services the center in Podgorica offers on a regular basis to support students who would like to study in the United States.
The fair is part of the 2018 Southeastern Europe Recruiting Tour, organized in the region by the Education USA Network in collaboration with the Department of State. Thanks to the resources of eLibraryUSA, online databases are available as well, harboring a plethora of relevant titles in all possible fields. Lectures by prominent American and local experts in the areas of art, politics, popular culture, technologies and many other topics are regular events at the AC. They screen feature films and documentaries and facilitate reading and discussion clubs aimed at improving the English language skills of participants, exchanges of opinions and learning opportunities about cultural differences and educational matters, as well as programs for the youngest members.
The American Corner in Podgorica is a partnership project between the Embassy of the United States of America in Montenegro and the capital city of Podgorica, initiated in 2003 and aimed at promoting the American culture, education and universal values in the contemporary setting of a library/cultural center.
Advising Centers actively promote the higher education of the U.S. around the world by offering accurate, unbiased, comprehensive, objective and timely information about educational institutions in the United States, while guiding qualified individuals on how best to access those opportunities.
