September 6, 2019 - The Herceg Novi Strip Festival is the ninth art manifestation that has earned the status of one of the most significant events dedicated to comics of today. It is confirmed by the artists themselves, who come from all meridians. In addition to the fact that HSF Ambassador William Simpson, the creator of Game of Thrones, comes to the 13th edition of HSF the absolute authority in the domain of Strip, Argentinean Enrique Brecca.
Although the official opening is scheduled for tonight at 8.30 pm on Belavista, the 13th Herceg Novi Strip Festival has actually already started this morning with a lecture and workshop with elementary school students about the most famous Balkan comic Dikan and its author, Lazo Sredanovic. In the next six days at ten locations in the territory of Herceg Novi Municipality, through a series of exciting interactive programs, the city under Orjen will transform into exceptional comic book scenery for the thirteenth time with the participation of the greatest comic artists of today.
"William Simpson, ambassador of the Herceg Novi Comic Festival in the world, has arrived. We are talking of the famous author, the man who is the storyboarder and creator of the visual identity of the Game of Thrones series. William, when I was waiting for him at the Dubrovnik airport, said with enthusiasm, "I'm finally here again," praising the work we do year after year. For the third time, Walter Venturi is with us, who came at his own expense before the official start of the festival. I think that says enough what artists who once visit the Herceg Novi strip festival think about our event," says PR HSF, Nebojsa Mandic.
"Indeed, this year we have 12 special guests of the festival, who are themselves the creations of today when it comes to comic books.
I have a special pleasure, even a slight tremor, as I go to meet comic book legend Enrique Brecca, a man who enjoys special authority on the comic scene. When I told famous Andrea Di Vito that Enrique Breccia will join us this year, he literally stood still and said, "Guys, you're really doing a great job!" Mandic proudly points out.
HSF offers standard exhibitions, interactive workshops, drawing for fans, comic book exchanges, but also high-quality concerts, lectures, and gastronomic content. Noting that all HSF programs are free, here is a detailed schedule of this year's event:
