On the occasion of Earth Day, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism and NGO "EKOM", awarded the best works of students from Montenegro who participated in the twentieth competition "Young eco-reporters". As stated in the contest, which is being realized within the framework of the Foundation for Ecological Education (FEE), special topics this year were "Responsible Production and Consumption" and "Eco Schools", and over 480 works from 33 elementary and 16 high schools were received.
In the category of elementary schools, the first prizes were awarded to the pupils from the Elementary School "Daso Pavicic" from Herceg Novi - Sergej Dragovic, Petar Lucic and Danilo Dabovic for the video piece "Red evil” from "Narodni hero Savo Ilic" in Dobrota, Nikola Kovac for the eco-article "Where is this boat sailing”, Danilo Tesla from "Drago Milovic" in Tivat for eco-photography "Everyone on their own" and pupils from the school “Aleksa Djilas Beco” from Mojkovac Ksenija Lasic and Nikolija Medojevic for biodiversity photography "Talks between conifer and deciduous trees" and "Talks between fall and winter".
"In the category of high schools, the first awards were given to Filip Raicevic from the High economic and catering school in Niksic, for the video collection 'Let’s Collect and Recycle', and Jelena Djurdjic from the same institution for the eco-article 'Progress causes a setback'. Jovana Stanic from high school “Spasoje Raspopovic” from Podgorica received the first prize for eco-photography "Ashtray" and Sedat Sijaric from the school "Vaso Aligrudic" also from Podgorica for the photo of biodiversity "Nest in my vineyard".
"EKOM", as the organizer of the competition, awarded the prizes for the selection of works on environmental activism, to the high economic and catering school from Niksic, the secondary School "Spasoje Raspopovic" from Podgorica, the Gymnasium "Tanasije Pejatovic" from Pljevlja and the primary schools "Dr Dragisa Ivanovic" and "Bozidar Vukovic Podgoricanin" from Podgorica, "Salko Aljkovic" from Pljevlja and "Braca Ribar" from Zaton.
The Gymnasium "Niko Rolovic" from Bar was awarded a plaque for selection of works on responsible production and consumption.
This year's selected works can be viewed on www.mladi-ekoreporteri.org.me , and online voting takes place until June 5th when, on the World Environment Day, the best works will be announced in the opinion of the public.
