October 26, 2018 - The ten-year work of the Forensic Center in Danilovgrad has 57,000 items, 230,000 samples processed and more than a million analyzes.

In order for the enormous work to be successful, the quality must be monitored, and in the Forensic Center, it is proudly stated that none of the finished cases have been disputed. Here, there are 12 groups of highly educated scientists and experts, 54 of them.

"We can respond to all realistic requests, in real time," the Director of Forensic Center Zoran Tomcic said to TV Magazine, adding that time, investment in training and knowledge is needed for someone to become a forensic.

Forensics is a science that is subject to change, "and all these innovations are bound to be followed in both technical and scientific terms."

Forensics give a significant contribution to the rule of law through the materialization of evidence. The long-lasting and complex process begins with a group of detectives. They are the only visible part of the Forensic Center and we have the opportunity to see them in recognizable outfits in places where serious crimes have taken place in recent years. The Forensic Institute Association has issued a call to countries from around the world to send a base case that has allowed a heavy criminal offense to be solved in a complex way. Countries from all over the world participated, and our forensics won the 4th place after the United States, Great Britain, and China, which means a lot to the renowned institutions and scientists themselves.

The work of operational criminal techniques and the treatment of the faces at the spot depends on the further course of the expertise. Ballistics is the oldest forensic branch in Montenegro. This sector was founded in 1954 within the Secretariat of internal affairs in Cetinje when the first comparative microscope was purchased.

The DNA laboratory reminds you of the scenes from the high-budget series and movies where forensic experts are the main cast. This is the only place where the TV Magazine team could not enter, and the reasons for this are explained by Sandra Kovaćević, who is in charge of this sector: "DNA laboratories are made according to the principle of 'clean rooms'. Also, we have a separate ventilation system, changing air several times in one hour, pouring air through heap filters, curved edges, substrate antistatic. There are double doors and alarm systems on sensitive zones, all in order to prevent sample contamination."

The Forensic Center runs the DNA Registry. Now in this base, there are 6,000 facial profiles and about 1,600 DNA profiles with traces that have so far remained unidentified. From 2011 to 2014, there was an intensive work that the Forensic Center gains the accreditation under the standard 1725. This means that the results obtained at this institution are accurate, precise and verifiable and acknowledged. In this way, they are valid in the world, and therefore, without fake modesty, as far as forensics are considered, Montenegro is already in the European Union.
