The 4th International Choral Festival, organized by Fortune NGO from Herceg Novi and strategic partners - the Music School and the Church of St. Jerome, will be held from October 5th to 7th. The opening of the festival is planned on the plateau in front of the Music School, while the competition part of the festival will be traditionally held at the port of the Sv. Jerome church.
This year, nine choirs were reported: three from Russia, three from Ukraine, two from Serbia and one choir from Slovenia. The jury consists of eminent choir conductors - Sergei Savenko (Ukraine), Dragana Jovanovic (Serbia) and Aleksandra Knežević (Montenegro). According to the Rulebook of the Festival, the winner of the highest prize is awarded the "Laureat" and 500 euros.
"As a unique manifestation of this type, the festival has a clear artistic focus and great local, national and international significance as we are intended to be part of the European Choirs Association "Europa Cantat ". In addition to the nurturing pleasing sound in different styles of choral singing, one of the strategic goals of the festival is to enrich the musical life of Herceg Novi, create a friendly meeting and exchange artistic ideas," the organizers said.
The opening of the Festival will be held on Friday, October 5, at 6.30 pm. The opening ceremony will host performances by the Town Choir "Zvezdice" (Leskovac, Serbia), Mixed Choir "Adoramus" (Logatec, Slovenia), Ladies Choir “Lad” (Moscow, Russia), Youth Choir “Oblivion Ensemble” (Moscow, Russia) and the Mixed City Choir of Bijelo Polje (Montenegro).
The realization of this cultural event was made possible by the Municipality of Herceg Novi, the Herceg Novi Tourist Organization, Hotel Hunguest, the City Café, Fany Marić Djukic, Bakar Šušić, HD Laković, DOO Val-Gojković and DOO SURFMONT.
