Music, drama, art programs, fair and sports events have been realized on several locations in the town, in order to revive individual spaces and send an unambiguous message that our historical and cultural heritage is highly communicating with contemporary artistic expression so that the whole town can be a stage where current, diverse and engaged cultural-artistic and sporting programs are performed. Thus, as stated in the town of Cetinje, this manifestation justified the epithet of the traditional as well as the expectations of the citizens and town administration.
A special place in the "Summer in the Capital" program was last night's concert by the Montenegrin group Perper from Cetinje in front of the Royal Theater Zetski dom.
It was their first appearance in the open, in Cetinje, after six years. In the intimate atmosphere and in front of a large audience, Perper justified the epithet "guardian of a good musical expression" as the audience reacted to the many hits that were created in almost three decades of the group's existence. That's why the yard of Zetski dom was a logical choice for holding the concert and confirmed the cultural heritage in the face of contemporary contemplation of the world through verses and notes.
Let's remember, this year's event was opened by a member of Perper Momčilo Zeković Zeko by promoting the album "Pocket with Secrets", at the Park on July, 13th where, as he said, at the beginning of the 90's, not so great music was played. At the same location, the play "Looks" had recently taken place, along with the adaptation of Goran Milenković's "Adulterers" drama, performed by Katarina Radivojević, Nina Seničar, and our Marija Vicković
A series of activities were carried out on the town squares - such as the Bykes-event, the concert on the occasion of Statehood Day and the Concert of the Russian Nekrasov Orchestra at the Royal Square, the traditional manifestation Scents of Lime tree and Honey at Balšić market, and a two-day basketball tournament Cetinje 2K18 at the Student Square. Several literary evenings and art exhibitions were also organized.
The end of July was reserved for the biggest folk festival. In the course of three days, the Summer Stage hosted the 12th International Folklore Festival, organized by KUD "Njegoš", bringing together 250 folklore groups from seven European and Eurasian countries.
The Youth Week was also organized by NGO Civic Creative Center, and the program was organized at the Royal Square, at Ivanova korita, and at the American Corner. At the end of the month, we await the traditional events of the Rijecka Noc and Njeguska trpeza, exhibitions and concerts.
The manifestations are realized by the town of Cetinje and the Tourist Organization of the Capital with the help of partners and friends.
