"The exhibition consists of 96 black and white photographs of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, featuring well-known photographers such as Manuel Alvares Bravo, Nicolas Marej and Edvard Veston. Photos show different stages of love affair, social and political life and the death of Frida and Diego," announced the NMCG.
Rivera was one of the most significant representatives of Mexican muralism, and Frida was known as the creator of autobiographical images under the influence of folk Mexican and indigenous art.
"Their love affair crossed boundaries, full of countless encounters, closeness, disagreement, and sincere friendships with great personalities of the epoch," the statement said.
The exhibition will be opened by the art historian Ljiljana Karadzic, and the setting will be exhibited on the second floor of the gallery until August 26th.
