June 27, 2018 - Pope Francis' right hand, the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, arrived in Montenegro. This is a historical visit and, as Prime Minister Duško Marković pointed out, is a signal that the Pope himself will soon come to visit us too.
Duško Marković welcomed the first man of the executive power of the Vatican in Podgorica, who concluded that relations between Montenegro and the Holy See are very good.
“Montenegro welcomed the historical visit of the Cardinal Pietro Parolin. We are sure that his visit and the conversations we had today will lead to stronger cooperation and understanding. We also hope that, in the near future, we will have the opportunity to host His Holiness, the Pope Francis," said Marković.
Official talks of the highest official representatives of Montenegro and the Holy See will be a great opportunity for deepening the already great bilateral relations which share fundamental civilization values of peace and justice.
On Friday, Cardinal Parolin will host mass in the Cathedral of St. Peter in Bar and in the Cathedral of St. Tryphon in Kotor.
