May 28, 2018 - Within the EU project "Music Up Close Network" of Creative Europe, the National Academy "Santa Cecilia" from Rome and the Music Center of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Royal Theater "Zetski dom", two children's concerts will be held titled "What kind of music are you?". Participants in the program are the professors and musicians of the Academy of Music "Santa Cecilia" Ilenia Montaruli (violin), Francios Storino (cello) and Gregorio Macareze (tube), as well as Montenegrin actress Kristina Obradović and pianist Luka Đačić. This segment of the project aims to educate young audiences through an interactive artistic format and communication approach and to show that, at the concert, the music is capable of expressing every attitude, event and emotion.
The concerts will be held on Tuesday, May 29 at the Royal Theater "Zetski dom" in Cetinje. The first concert will start at 11 am and the following at 12:30 pm. The entry for both events is free, and the recommended age is from five to ten years.
Within the framework of the European Union program Creative Europe with the Music Center of Montenegro, nine partners from seven European countries are participating in the Music Up Close Network project. The goals of the program include strengthening international cooperation and finding innovative art forms and communication approaches to attract younger and various audiences to concerts of classical music. MUCN's activities include program-specific concerts, meetings and audiences, music workshops, compilation and performance of new orchestral works, youth musicians training in partner orchestras, and exchanging experiences in a professional cadre.
In addition to the Music Center of Montenegro, many important European music institutions are participating in the program including “Dutch Symphony Orchestra”, “Barcelona Symphony Orchestra”, “National Orchestra of Lille, “State Academy " , “The Santa Cecilia Academy of State from Rome”, “The Sarajevo Philharmonic”, “The Slokar Academy from Ljubljana”, and the International Foundation "Jehudi Menjuhin" from Belgium.
