May 20, 2018 - The musical guest on the second evening of the new Herceg Novi festival MORŽ will be Miki Solus, a popular Zagreb singer known for his unusual, wrinkled lyrics and flamboyant but virtuous piano performance. The concert will be held on June 2nd, at the stage Stairs of October 28, in front of Cafe Prostorija.
A chansonnier, jazz musician, and rapper, behind Miki are three studio albums including 'Music of Suspect Quality', 'Music for Kids and Retirees' and 'Music about Soccer, Jazz and Pieces'
"Every musician at the Faculty of Philosophy is playing guitar. It is a prevalent instrument. I wanted to create the original aesthetic, so I chose the piano," Miki Solus said in an interview with Balkanrock. 'Hipster,' 'Full Moon,' 'Dead Johnny,' 'Zlatan Ibrahimović' are some of the popular hits of the young Zagreb musician. Miki's concerts never disappoint, his access to music is unalterable, and in the lyrics of his songs, he likes to deconstruct a pop scene from a post-Yugoslavian space.
The first night of MORŽ will be held by Dukat Stray, the songwriter, and bandleader of Stray Dogg. The festival will also boast an exhibition of about twenty exciting post-Yugoslav visual artists. In a film program organized in cooperation with the Montenegrin Cinematheque, the audience will be able to view films focused on the theme or scenery of the sea - 'Life aquatic' by Wes Anderson; 'Dvorišta' by Herceg Novi director, Ivan Marinović; 'The Seven Continents' of the Only Yugoslav and Montenegrin Oskar Award Winner Dušan Vukotić; 'To catch the thief' of Alfred's Hitchcock, as well as the Bruce Brown's 'Endless Summer' surf documentary.
The MORŽ festival, which will be held from June 1-3, is organized by Herceg Novi Cool (NGO Alternaut) and Café Room, together with the Montenegrin Cinematheque. The festival was supported by the Tourist Organization of Herceg Novi, as well as JUK Herceg fest, the Public Utility Company Herceg Novi, the Blue line, Vodovod Herceg Novi, the Guest house Tomanović, Caffe-pizzeria Al posto giusto, the City Café Herceg Novi, Herceg Novi Municipality and Public Company Marine Good (JP Morsko dobro).
