The works on the installation of the Smart parking system in Podgorica represent the first step in the realization of the project Podgorica SMART city.
“Parking service Podgorica is creating this project, thanks to the support from the Montenegrin Telekom and the capital, which is one of the first steps in the realization of the idea of Podgorica-Smart City. The whole system works on a straightforward principle thanks to modern technology, and it consists of special parking sensors fixed under the surface of the asphalt, modules for gathering and transformation of data, info LED boards and an appropriate web and mobile application”, stated the PG bureau.
The sensors inform the system about the present state at the specific parking lot, and the computer program delivers the processed data to the drivers through the application for mobile phones or directly on the website, as well as through the info LED board which will be installed on the public lights poles.
This system will help the citizens know exactly where there are free parking places; therefore, they won’t lose time and money searching for parking any longer.
“It is also an 'eco-friendly' project which will enable less pollution of the environment and save in fuel consumption. In the next period, besides working on this project, Parking service will intensively carry out activities on implementing new services and new equipment at parking lots, expanding the sale networks of parking tickets and the installation of parking meters at new locations in Podgorica”, concluded the PG bureau.
